Default Medieval Kingdoms Total War: The Hafsid Sultanate

    The Hafsid Sultanate
    الحفصيون‎ [al-Ḥafṣiyūn]

    Background:

The Hafsids were the longest lasting of the post-Almohad kingdoms, and the most cosmopolitan. The Hafsid sultans ruled over a diverse empire that saw a thorough admixture of the Arabs and Berbers, and even significant influx from Christian lands at points.

The Hafsid armies are difficult to reconstruct in detail, but they appear to have profited greatly from the fall of Al-Andalus, using large numbers of Andalusian exiles in addition to the military system common among other Maghrebi armies. Hafsid armies were tactically flexible, using a wide array of native soldiers, slaves and mercenaries to dominate the battlefield, and Hafsid commanders could rely on all the tactical apparatus of their native region as well as the choicest warriors of Christian Europe or Turkish Anatolia.

Yes excellent work, however there is one detail that disrupts me, it's the lack of camails or gorgerins for the late tier christian mercenaries, especially for the mounted ones. I read somewhere that it was nearly suicidal for a knight who practiced a "couched lance" fighting to not protect his throat and his neck ... It is just a game as you could say but imo it is exactly the sum of these little details that makes a difference.
Perhaps I should post this latest note on the Almohad roster thread but I noticed you finally did not use the beautiful Boabdil sallet model that you showed us some time ago, on the screenshot it seems that Boabdil uses a more common helmet. Have you encountered some problems with this model ?

In this preview you will notice my infantile lack of knowledge on european arms & armor. Luckily, its stuff that is easily changed. I have a list of fixes to make and all but about 2 are for the european units , but don't worry - ill post the new units soon.

For the Boabdil sallet, it is in the roster its just only on the t3 Andalusian officers. I decided against using it on boabdil oddly enough, because it doesn't show his face, which was something I wanted to keep.

Thanks a lot man. I was curious, is it known that Turkic mercenaries served in North Africa as well?
"Therefore I am not in favour of raising any dogmatic banner. On the contrary, we must try to help the dogmatists to clarify their propositions for themselves. Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."

Theres pretty clear evidence that Turkic Ghuzziya served throughout the Maghreb in this period.
