    Default Rise of Kings v1.x Bug Thread

    Please only post bug reports in this thread.

    KNOWN ISSUES:
    - When starting a campaign it can take a few minutes (approx 5-8 depending on the system) for the campaign to start. This is the game loading the map.

    Bug Reporting:
    Please follow the following guidelines when reporting bugs. This allows me to better find and fix the bug/issue.
    - State faction
    - Game year? (if campaign CTD)
    - Whos turn was it? (if campaign CTD)
    - Who were you fighting?
    - Is your MTWII directory unpacked?
    - Description of the bug/issue.

    Like the mod a lot
    However the Bosnian Archers appear all white. Anyone else noticed this?

    Hi,
    I'm trying your mod since Wednesday and I noticed something weird. Some cities/castle are growing in population but I'm not proposed any evolution, i.e. I have a 5000 people wooden castle but I was never proposed to go for a stone castle... Quite annoying when your neighbours got Citadels !

    Another odd thing : I got a message near 1100, saying the New World was discovered. Two turns later, Milanese got an alliance with Mexicans...
    Maybe it's the way you wanted it to be but it doesn't seem very realistic lol !

    Otherwise your mod is very interesting, keep up the good work !!

    Thats something to do with one of the Mods Kushan uses to build RoK, I am not sure which one but I am sure he will tell us, for some reason it lets the early era boats cross the Atlantic ie Cogs and Holks. What happens is the AI's boats get in a fight with rebles/another AI somewhere around the iberian straights (enterence to the mediteranean) and the boat with its back to the Atlantic looses so its forced to retreat - and it retreats all the way over the Atlantic and voila America.

    Two Bugs I saw:

    The generals bodyguards are still looking like the liquid terminator. (rebels)

    In Hamla (hopefully this is right) the rebel castle right of Antiochia the Generals bodyguards icon in stack list is shown as peasnt from RTW.

    thats it.

    Generals not upgrading

    My castle has the Master Armourer and all my generals appear in the Retrain queue but cannot be selected. They are ghosted, cannot be selected, and therefore cannot have their armour upgraded. Any advice?

    What was your factions treasury? units will appear greyed out if you cannot afford to retrain them.

    This is definitely not the issue as I have over 200k.

    And I just discovered that I can upgrade the generals in the city but not the same level armourer in the castle. Strange. =o/

    Because your game is unpacked, thats probably why you are missing textures. For some reason this mod hates having the game unpacked, but work fine if everything is packed. I suggest installing into a separate MTWII directory that is not unpacked, that should solve all the missing texture issues.

    If the game is unpacked, go into your MTWII data folder and delete everything BUT the Animations, Cursors, FMV, Sounds, and World folders.

    It is not a bug that belongs to sicily alone. I played Egypt, Sicily, the Scotts, the French, the Seljuks and the Danes. In every rebel settlement the textures of the Rebel Generals bodyguards a complete silver. The horses are normal.

    It is not a bug that belongs to sicily alone. I played Egypt, Sicily, the Scotts, the French, the Seljuks and the Danes. In every rebel settlement the textures of the Rebel Generals bodyguards a complete silver. The horses are normal.
    dogma, was you game unpacked? if not, then I'll go in and further explore the issue and find a fix for v2.0.

    Did you mean the 1.1 patch for it? I did unpack it with rar.

    Not with the unpacker that came with it.

    I'll go in and take a look at it for v2.0. On an off chance, could you try something for me? Open the RiseofKings.cfg file in notepad, and delete:

    [io]
    file_first = true

    then see if that fixes the issue. I've recently become aware the texture files don't work with mod switch (Still trying to understand it).

    Its doesn't, it should only have one config file.

    what??? I had 2 in mine! one is "Rise of Kings" and another is "RiseofKings" -> this one is that contains the line that you told me to delete, but it only contains about 10 lines without the video and sound setting. :hmmm:

    It should only have RiseofKings.cfg. I dont know how Rise of Kings.cfg would have gotten there.

    The.bat file is set up to only recognize RiseofKings.cfg
