Also playing N/N in DV, since we've buffed the AI to be harder in N (campaign) than it is in VH in DeI/vanilla. It also helps when you play coop/head-to-head a lot, since you can't select both difficulties there.

It helps to play a more difficult faction as well. In the past for both R1 and R2 I played mostly as Hellenic based factions or, in limited cases, Rome. Lately I've been playing as either Barb or Eastern factions and, to be quite honest, it's a more enjoyable experience. Not only do several of these factions have compromised starting locations, both in terms of income and the politics of the region, but the approach to battles has to be completely different due to the design of their unit rosters.

DE AI Arbitis(hardcore no CAI changes version).
    Hardcore no CAI changes.
    41 unit armies.
50% increase in supplies(to prevent 41 unit armies from starving).
@Satansblofish - please can you edit your OP to include links to the submods/sites where these can be downloaded/found?

I was able to get the 41 units by modifying the savegame, however I can't find "DE AI Arbitis" anywhere or the 50% increase in supplies.

Thanks for putting this together - looks like it will make for an even more compelling game!

Good combination. Try an average faction for an even harder game.

N/N for smaller factions, H/N (even with Hardcore CAI) for greater (like Rome etc.) And for greater - even Hardcore CAI is not enough. For example, in H/N+HCAI HatG campain both Carthage and Rome were very passive(... I know, sea invasions is an old weakness fo TW... but... ...
P.S. I don't like full hardcore submod, because some limitations are too artificial. You became a simcity manager, whose main task is to hold a balance between public order, food and now sanitation. And sometimes you even have battles))). Like in Caesar series game).
