Default Would Saddam of been put to justice at all?

So recently I've been thinking, many of the history's modern tyrants haven't really faced justice. They have either escaped, killed themselves or just plain died in custody. While you may not of agreed with the war in any part or fully support it, do you think the fact that he has faced punishment for his deeds that it in itself is a good side effect of the war? Do you think it will discourage future dictators (etc..) from doing the same things of people past? And most importantly, if the Iraq War had not happened would he of just died peacefully in Iraq going unpunished for the deaths of thousands?

The only reason the USA ever cared about Hussein is because he invaded Kuwait back in the early 90's.

To answer your question, no it will not. People will continue to do horrible things even with examples of what will hapen to them if caught; there will always be those that wish to opress and slaughter others, which is why the War on Terrorism will ultimately fail.

Well whether the reasons for why the U.S. cares about Saddam is irrelevant I'm mainly wondering if people believe he would of been actually been sought after and put to trial if the U.S. never even looked at Iraq pre war.

I very much doubt they would have gone after him unless he invaded Kuwait really. He was doing a handy enough job himself keeping Iran busy. They were even giving him weapons, chemicals etc to do the job.
