how to remove victory points?

Hey,
I find that victory points force you to defend them and make city sieges one-sided and boring.A whole city, but I have to defend this particular area or I lose. It kills the creativity to use the city well. Are there any mods or edits to remove victory points without breaking the game? Also, it causes the AI to make a beeline to the victory point which can be annoying.

You can't remove them in a working way. While you can remove the victory points, AI will still try to capture them and just stand there doing nothing.
