    Default Can I mount slingers?

    Can I mount these? They're originally based on slingers.

    Possibly not it depends if anyone ever made a skeleton for a mounted slinger.
    In DMB if you were mounting a normal archer you'd change
    skeleton fs_archer, fs_swordsman
    to
    skeleton fs_hc_archer, fs_hc_swordsman
    but that only works because fs_hc_archer is an existing animation. Your problem is likely to be that there might not actually be a mounted version of fs_med_handgunner. Read through the mod's descr_skeleton.txt and see if any of the titles sound promising - or ask in the mod's thread /forum.

    If you can fix that, changing the EDU side should be easy, you need a mount and a mount_effect line instead of the officer lines and the category changed to cavalry.

    Can't even find fs_med_handgunner itself in descr_skeleton, let alone a mounted version. So I guess no gun-armed outriders then.
    There isn't anywhere else skeletons might be is there?

    the descr_skeleton file won´t help you much, it´s a leftover that isn´t used anymore, to the best of my knowledge. The game´s animations are packed in the animation subfolder.
    To find out what animations can be used (they´re assigned in DMB) you need to unpack them, best by using this nice little tool:

    Just copy the content of the zip file attached to shrimpy´s post into the animations folder, run "unpack skeletons" and you´ll get a couple of files added to your animations folder. Most of them will be named fs_something, those are the actual skeleton files. You can´t do much with them, save see which are available, but the program will also create a list.txt file, listing all the skeletons in the pack.

    Be warned, though: Make a copy of the original files in the animation folder, just in case you accidently hit "pack animations"
    or "pack skeletons" which will screw up your files unless you know what you´re doing!

    Oh, and another thing: this tool won´t allow you to manipulate any animations, you´ll need 3ds max for that, it just unpacks them (added to prevent disappointments)

    Tested it, no cav skeleton available.
