AI Battles

If I have 2 legions going up against 2 Macedon full stack armies (for example), would it be a good idea to control one legion and let the AI control the other? Or should I control 1 legion, use it as best I can and as units are eliminated, control incoming units from the other legion to go in their place?

I let the AI control, but the reinforcements never get there in time. Besides it gets too hectic trying to keep up with two battles, but I will occasionally send units over if I feel the AI is going to struggle.

I always let the AI control reinforcements, its fun to fight a losing battle against a ton of barbarians, and then see the next legion running in to save us in clouds of dust...

I never let the AI command a Legion in battle. I always ask for the Reinforcments.

The AI is stupid and willl get a lot more men killed and perhaps a General and they just get in my way.

I hate the battle AI, its stupid, beyond stupid. I never ever ever ever ever engage in battle with more than 1 legion at a time. My Generals are too precious for the stupid AI to throw away the way it does.

The Legions never advance as one, they don't take time to form up... its annoying, they just charge headlong with the first units that are available to command.

If I can't take the enemy down with 1 legion, then I'll pull back and nail 'em with Skirmish battalions until I can. Or I'll use skirmish battalions to break up their armies so that I can piece-meal stomp their armies with my Legions.

Remember, the name of the game is fire and maneuver, good maneuvering on the campaign map can save you thousands of men on the battle map.
Excellent maneuvering on the battle map can save you a headache on the campaign map.
