Default Progress of the campaign map?

I couldn't find anything about the progress. So how long will it take until the release and what needs to be done until it can be released?

I don't know what to think about this anymore, still checking daily to see if there's an update or a hint of it. But the last message was in de February update to "except something big" in the next update. Well, it's no lie.. there just hasnt been no update yet since February.

This is not a rant to sue for an update whatsoever, just thought it would be polite to adress these concerns instead of replying with "Soon" or "When it's done".

The promise of warman was that the next update would have some form of campaign. Therefore, until the campaign is done, there is no update. There's no point in showing a half-finished product that needs to be pieced together from the work of various users.

The only thing I can tell you is that campaign work is being done as fast as humanly possible considering this is a side project we do for free on our off-time, and unfortunately for anyone that really wants to play this mod (and the ones working on the mod are the most eager of all, trust me), our every day life takes precedence. Sometimes, unforeseen events delay the mod further, it's an unfortunate reality of modding work.

We have already seen what happened when AE put a delivery date on their mod and could not produce a campaign in time due to the sheer size of the endeavour. There's literally no upside to us giving a date when we have no way of making sure we deliver on that promise. The only thing I can say is that by the time we send the campaign to alpha testing, we will be able to give a release date for our next update.

It is really a bad idea "no update until campaign", which is essentially equal to no update at all.

If the mod without campaign is really "a half-finished product that needs to be pieced together from the work of various users", then why did you release it and update it quite a few times last year? It is not a half-finished product, we, at least some of us, want to play the newly made factions and units, even with out the campaign mode.

The Pike & Musket mod is active again in 2016, check the PMTW Sub Forum now!

Especially on the campaign development there were just a few infos, not only since february. People are just curious whats going on.
It has been a lot more quiet due to various reasons, but I can say that we are active as a team on almost a daily basis.

It should show what is done, what is left and what the current plans are. We've discussed how to approach this before but I can't say at what point we'll feel that a preview of future content will be possible. It depends on quite a few factors and a lot of elements of the campaign are not yet set in stone.

I'm talking about the campaign specifically. A few members are working on different parts of the campaign, which will need to be assembled before we can even make a preview.

Modding the main attila campaign is a colossal modding project, there are just so many elements to work on. Even if you work as hard as you can the sheer amount of things that need to be worked on to produce a polished mod is staggering. I've personally been working more on AOC due to this

Lastly I want to say, that the Team is doing a great job in making constant progress so far. There is absolutely no reason to get displeased or impatient until now. Just in case anyone may think that...

I know this is a free-time project for so many modders in the team. I really, really appreciate the effort to put time into this! I even wanted (still do) donate some funds to show how much I like what is being done here.

But to only see discussions about what to name a province and whether a settlement should be a few ticks north/south or what ever sinds the beginning of the year has just got me worried if anything is happening at all. The replies above show that there is a very eager team behind the scenes.

These kind of messages are, to me, an update on status.

    Thank you!

Hey, city or faction positions are very important things if we want to have an accurate and thorough campaign map! Discussions like these belong to the process and show that the mod is very alive...

    @zsi
And thanks for your answers, zsi! Its always good to hear, that the progress is real.

Most of the progress updates have been done piece-meal on the discord server. I don't remember posting too much stuff from the campaign development, however, since it is quite fragmentary.
