Graphic error

Hello,

I have a big problem with MTW2.

First, my system:

8800 GTS
2 GB Corsair
P5B ASUS Deluxe
6600 Intel Duo 2,4 Ghz

But in MTW2 the games get sometimes extremly laggy within a battle. Although I reduced the details instantly all to minimum, the lagging didn`t get better. Sometimes the game crashes then and gives me a "Fatal graphic error...blabla ... settings are to high" But my system should ber this settings, shouldn't it?

I even had this error on the campaign card.

Anyone who has a solution for me?

that is really odd, that system should eat this game for breakfast. First have you patched it? Next check the temps of the card and cpu mke sure they are at reasonable levels. <50 for the processor and <70 for the graphcis card.

Where can I check the temperature?

The problem is, only MTW2 has this problems; FEAR, Paraworld, FM 2007 no problems.

I even tried a 3D Benchmark, 2 hours long --> no problems. If the temperature was too high, the 3D Benchmark should have caused the same problem, shouldn't it?

you can check the gpu by right clicking on the desktop and going to properties > settings > advanced >geoforce 8800gtx? and then temprature settings.

But theres a good chance its just the game needs another patch.

could be because the 8800 is a very new card with new codings
what power suplly are you using?
did you install your 8800 after installing MTWII?
If so i would try to reinstall all.
First XP with your 8800 than MTWII (It worked once with me using 7950)

No, I installed the Game after the MTWII; I will check the temperature nxt time the error occurs.

I'm not very satisfied with the PC; every game has some problems, but never the same. It seems to me, that the games have the problems becaus of the new card; perhaps I have to wait for new drivers...

For example KOTOR II sometimes has laggings to, but in a totally other way than MTWII...

I'm a little bit unhappy...

I have a very similar system. GTX 8800, dual core 2.4, 3gb ram, etc. But i have had many problems with various games- my answer in trying to address most of these problems is windows vista it has caused me no end of trouble. for example before i got vista updates oblivion ran (beautifully) then without warning or reason it simply wouldn't with no bethesta support i gave up on it. medieval has run ok for me but with the stainless steel mod i get that same deal. My advice is reinstall medieval and set the card to default settings for medieval.
