The French crown finally cemented a agreement with the English giving them at least "allied" status , which would at the very least stop the persecution of the french mercantile caravans visiting french terrority. With the benefits of new trade tension's lessening , and the previous reduction of forces, the french state , announced that perhaps they might break even next seasons, and then discussions with the anglo-norman state, would begin to how much tarriff's they would put upon the french state, as a requirement of there surrender to the anglo-normans .

To the southeast however, there was some pirates besieging the port of Toulouse, but other than this , the french state was quite , and quite at east, now that tensions had lessened. Another point would be , that when the french state was solvent again, it would send a diplomat to discuss matters with the Pope about how much monies it would send to the Holy Papa.

As far as the Holy land was concerned , a uneasy stalemate was in force, as turkish forces built up in the area whilst the forces of the king of Jerusalem kept his forces within his walls, not wishing to take any actions which would leave him vulnerable. Silcian and other ambassadors came and went , observing the actions , but other than that , there was little action on the plains of Jerusalem, and even lesser actions or notice from the pope about relief armies. King Baldwin seemed fully valiadated in his beleives that the rest of the European forces, where to divided to act in any unified manner at this time ,to hurl the turks back , but he spent many a night in the temple on the mount praying that the turkish forces were beset with problems inflicted upon them, by the will of God and so far his prayers had been answered in that they did'nt have the forces to attack the city.

Henry's eager to march towards the remaining rebels in the northwest, as in times of peace the empire prospers greatly and when the rebels is shut down the only threat will be the Turkish invasion which will be stopped before they reach Europe.

East front against Vienna is at a stalemate but the men are ready to repel and attacks from the Traitors at any moment.

The army being mustered for the Crusade is soon done and will start marching towards Hamburg or Genoa to set sail to the Holy land hopefully it's not to late to aid France's defense in Jerusalem yet...

    1115 Anno Domini

10 years have passed since the fragile balance of power irreversibly shifted after 1105 Anno Domini. A new dawn rises on the lands of medieval Europe as great nations crumble and new ones emerge, alliances shift, and a white smoke appears near St. Peter’s Basilica. And so, as wars rage on and rivalries deepen, who will take all, who will be the one to shape the future of history? And who will be the one to fall, remembered as a mere passing moment in the chronicles of the days of old.

(Involvements from the admin will be restricted to already or now newly established mechanics, no new general or faction specific events will happen anymore. These events happen in the vicinity of nations that did not have events as of yet to replace them with these)

    A Crumbling Dynasty No More…

After the defeat of both the Seljuks and the Fatimids by the first crusader army, the successor states of the Abbasid Caliphate had to accept the humiliating loss of the Holy Land. Shadowed by decadence for years, somehow, through either the sheer willpower of the sultans or the help of Allah, the Seljuks raised their banners once again and marched to fight the Christians to take back what should be rightfully theirs by their own words. The hero of Rūm, Kilij Arslan led his armies personally through the Bosporus to sack Constantinople and deliver possibly the final blow to the once great Roman Empire. Jerusalem shall be next. But the other Muslim state, the Fatimid Caliphate has not been idle either. Under the new Caliph of Cairo, the nation prospered and become a maritime superpower with the use of the mass amounts of gold that trade brought into the city and which filled up the treasury. Now, the Caliph has decided that the age of isolation is over and who knows what will this mean? Perhaps that the Crusade has even less of a chance of beating back the Muslims? Perhaps that the Seljuks have a new rival? After all, it’s the Fatimid ruler that is the Caliph and the sole heir of Muhammad, peace be upon him.

Effect: Diplomacy is now opened up with the Fatimid Caliphate.

…And A Kaiser Not Just In Name,

Henry V Salian of The Holy Roman Empire were crowned Emperor while his father Henry IV still lived. His father, then old and fragile, unable to govern the lands of the Germans has called him a pretender, an unworthy heir and weak. But the young Emperor was neither of these. With great effort, he beat back the remainder of his father’s forces and now almost the entirety of the Empire belongs to him. He also feuded with the Pope, Paschal II, and after a ceasefire and a betrayal, crushed his forces in the battle of Brescia and forced the Papacy to make a peace, guaranteeing rein in Italy and ending the investiture wars. And as a new superpower in Europe emerges ready to pledge is forces to the Crusade the rebellious nobles of the past can do no other thing than hide in their castles and await their fate.

    Effect: German rebels become passive.

    A White Smoke Seen Outdoor…

Alas, the heir of Saint Peter, our father the supreme pontiff, Paschal II have passed away at 61. Grief overtook the eternal city for a fortnight as the nobles, citizens and urban peasants together marched on the streets honouring the late Pope. Despite his failure to uphold the reforms of the church against the Germans, he worked for the best interest of his people and even called a crusade against the heathens. After his funeral, a great debate overtook the papal conclave. For two months, the Basilica remained closed. There were three bishop preferatii-s, the Tuscan Pietro da Gaeta, the Danish Halstan Vognsen and the German Albrecht Achilles. In the end, experience prevailed as with the papal and German banners raised, the new Pope - now Bernardus I of The Heiliges Römisches Reich at the age of 54 – welcomed the cheering populous of Rome. He is known to be Kind and Just, but only time will tell what his future policies bring…

Effect: St. Peter's Basilica has a new resident.

    And a New Nation’s Proclaim.

The Cumans roamed the Earth of Eastern Europe for 10 years now, migrating through the emerging power of Novgorod. But they were swiftly repelled by the more professional Hungarian army and so they were at crossroads. Beaten several times, they burned through the Russian farmlands, pillaging and looting what where in the way to try to reach Poland. They had to cross trough the local power of Vilnius where the ruler Shirmantas managed to convince the Pecheneg leaders to accept an abundance of gifts and treasures, so they pass without hostility. However, the greed of these barbaric horse riders was the end of them. Starvation set in and the leaders executed anyone who tried to steal so the promised and blinding treasure awaiting them in Vilnius would be theirs and only theirs. But their end would come sooner: A noble rider of the name of Tatar staged a rebellion in the middle of the night, cutting the throats of those who lead his people to starvation. He then led his people to the Lithuanian Capital as if nothing happened, but when the gates opened a dozen men rode in not to meet with Shirmantas, but to kill the guards and let the horde in. For 3 days the population was massacred as the last remains of the Lithuanian leader fled with his last remaining forces. Vilnius was now under the rule of Tatar and in a radical decision, he decided that this city and the surrounding lands would be the new homeland of the Cumans.

As Shirmantas fled north, the road become paved and he passed several merchant caravans. He has been in Riga 10 years ago, but the city become rich and powerful, and remained independent from the surrounding nations of the Danish and Polish. new stone walls were built, and an orthodox basilica towered in the distance. Armored troops drilled in the mustering fields and noble knights jousted in the countryside. When he arrived and brought the news of his capital’s sacking, the Rigans granted him land and wealth perhaps fearing about their own country if the savages decide to attack them. Alas, the time was not ripe as of yet for a counterattack. He needed money and support, experience and troops. And so, Europe’s first mercenary company, the Noble Company was founded in the year 1115.

    Effects:
    - Both the City if Riga and the Tribes of Vilnius will function as a separate nation played by the admin. Diplomacy is possible with them.
    - The prosperous city of Riga offers mercenary companies for the right price to any close or surronding nations and hits back hard if it's indepence is threatened.
    - Near the sacked town of Vilnius a new horselord with the name of Tatar Emerges with powerful armies. They will raid, conquer and sack settlements. They can be paid off or paid to raid other nations.

    A sudden and suprising death.
Pope Paschal the harsh, after several months of his health deteriorating into a condition of quiescent, has died of age. The funeral of Pope Paschal the harsh was held on the 8th April 1115, six days after his death on 2 April. The funeral was followed by the novemdiales devotional in which the Catholic Church observes nine days of mourning. As the Mass of Requiem began, the doors of St. Peter's Basilica were locked with dignitaries asked to stand outside the church.
Only the College of Cardinals and the patriarchs and presiding metropolitans of the Eastern Catholic Churches were allowed inside for a private ceremony in which Pope Paschal the harsh was placed in a cypress coffin, the first of three.
Elected by the College of Cardinal, Bernardus the Just of the Holy Roman Empire, a once very popular Cardinal known for his justice, faith and strength has now been elected to be the new head of the church, the Holy See and catholic faith.
Healing Powers, divinity itself are being echoed through all of Rome. Stories of Bernardus being a direct descendant of Jesus. Stories of having the blood of the Holy Roman Emperor Charlemagne in his veins cannot escape anyones ear's. Stories.. Of a ring, no, the one Ring. In all his courage, he, his loyal steed Jon and the previous Advisor to Pope Pashal now oversee the preparation met to lead his army into the crusade!

A dark cloud south of Jerusalem is becoming of concern. The intentions of the Fatimid ruler that is the Caliph unclear. It would seem likely for them to reclaim our Holy Land, or maybe simply rival the Seljuks in our favour?
    Time will tell.
Yet another danger brewing in the east. While the Polish, ignoring our threats of excommunication and call for peace, have not stopped the act of killing innocent christian lives, their King have lost their eyes upon the east and new powers
have emerged. An especially dangerous threat are the Nomad Tribes trying to trample over Europe once again. The Polish need to concern themselves with the dangerous east and not the faithful west!
If the Mad King does not halt his advances into denmark, return the land conquered to their people and stand trial for the acts commited against good, a excommunication will follow swiftly and they
will not be able to count on anyone's help to fend of the hordes of horses. The Lithuanians basically wiped off the map, Poland might follow suit soon. 1 Year worth of times left...

The Lords of Scotland were saddened of course by the death of Pope Paschal, but there was still an undertone of relief amongst them, as none were too fond of the holy man who had his fair shares of controversy. Under new leadership there is hope again to drive back the invaders in the East.

One of David's diplomats had met with a representative of the Danish, promising them protection from the Polish invaders. Still offering a mediation between the nations, but growing increasingly impatient with the Poles. He asked "why not bring an end to the bloodshed my brothers, we must fight in the east".

Scottish Elite Defense Force was dispatched under command of Ranald and David, with the sole mission to mediate the war and act defensively until Poland makes their decision to the pressure from the Pope.

The Polish king sinks the Scottish fleet before they can be used to transport his armies though sacrificing the polish fleet in turn who will surely be sunk by the approaching English fleet..

It was the winter of 1115AD , and the day to day activities of the french state carried on as normal, the fields gathered with foodstuffs stored away to survive the winter. Wine pressing was pushed as the main commence of the south , and the people celebrated with the nobles that owned the fields hosting wine festivals , where there lower class wine would be given out to the peasants , to keep them somewhat happy.

A rider arrived at the royal court at Toulouse , and the english messenger gave the scroll holder to King Louie who sat in his hall , whilst the lower nobility celebrated in the hall set lower below in the grand hall. He thanked the messenger in france, and the englishman gave a slight sniff, as he went off to find himself a place at the commoners table , whilst he waited for the kings answer. Phillip opened the scroll holder , and unrolled the paper , only to be surprised at what he saw....

Scratching his head , he looked on the outside layer looking for some clue but again nothing was found .

"Mon Dieu!" , cried Phillip suddenly thinking back to his youth when he heard tales of invisible writing when messenges had been written in acidic liquids which could be only be seen after heating the parchment. Moving slowly and carefully, he moved the parchment over a naked flame . One of the small candles that were near his seat, he waved the message over it , at such a height that the paper began to colour , but not catch fire....but still nothing. Perplexed he called one of the aides over , and asked them to locate the english messenger , and ask him , did he have another purpose ?, or did this message have a hidden meaning ? or a verbal element to it?

The Emperor has received a letter from the papacy offering him the position of "Defender of the Faith".
This means that the Holy Roman Empire will do anything within its power to help the Church defend against the Turkish invasion, which is getting closer every day.

The Empire urges everyone to stop waging war and forget their differences and unite against the common enemy before it's too late.

The dispute between England and Genoa is heated and could lead to war anytime and the Germans is getting close to the border in case any of the participants decides to enter German land without permission.
