Installing EBII on Mac version of MTW. Please Help!

I am having a hell of a time trying to install this mod onto my Mac, and was hoping to find some help. If anyone has the time and patience a walkthrough of the process would be really beneficial.

Some info: I have the Mac App Store version of the "Medieval II Total War: Collection", not the Steam version. I have tried to follow the instructions on the "Europa Barbarorum II 2.3 released!" thread but that didn't really get me anywhere. I have also following the instructions on this page: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile.../?id=601721028, but I can't get the game to launch after I get all the files moved around.

So I am at a loss here I have tried everything I can find to get the mod to launch and I think I must be doing something incorrectly with the install or the file management. If anyone has the time to help me out I would really apperciate it.

I use the steam version and did not have any issues installing 2.3 on my mac (mac OS El Capitan) following the instructions in the "Europa Barbarorum II 2.3 released!" thread. Does vanilla MTW2 work on your system? I know you did not purchase through steam, but do you use steam to launch vanilla?

MTW2 works fine on my system, but no I don't use Steam to launch it. It is simply in my applications folder as any other app would be. When the game launches it takes me to what I would expect would be the same kind of launcher the steam version has.

It seems like everyone is able to install it using the instructions from that thread fine, I wish I could figure out where my process is going wrong.

So you downloaded the installer version and ran the ebii.exe file using wine? Pointed to your MTW2 folder? On my setup the ebii folder is in the following:


/Users/(username)/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Medieval II Total War/Medieval2Data/mods


This is the same folder that includes the various kingdoms scenarios, such as Crusades, Americas etc. I now have an additional folder named ebii alongside these. So on your system wherever mtw2 is installed is the ebii folder in:


~/Medieval II Total War/Medieval2Data/mods?

Yep, I have done all of that. I have even now gone and redownloaded the game through Steam so that I can point it to the same Steam directory that everyone else has said works. So, yes the ebii folder is in the folder with all of the other MTW kingdoms mods.

I have everything in place, but the mod simply will not launch, I feel like I've just missed a step in the installation process, but I've repeated the process several times following each step, but the game just wont launch. It's pretty weird.
