Witches - wheir are they?

Has anyone seen them on the campaign map yet.....or do they come later in the game, (im in the year 1130 at the moment)

I've seen them, they are more rare than heretics though. They come early in game.

I have only seen one witch so far which i quickly denounced with the help of one of my cardinals.
They must be incredibly rare because that is the only time i have actually seen one

Yep, they are rare. They have almost same effects as heretics, but they can for ex. curse a general.

I never had any witches come in until I invaded England (playing as HRE). Then, out of York this old crone comes. Good thing is they are easier to denounce than heretics. I don't have to drag some Cardinal from Instanbul all the way to France like I do with heretics. They are also easy enough to assassinate. Anyway, I've made it to the New World 2 turns ago and I've had maybe 4 witches in all that time. 2 in England, 2 in Russia.

They only appear in high Heritc believers and what I read are dangerous and rare cause it is habit you kill Heretic at first site so you let a bunch keep coming she will pop out soon or later

They're much easier to kill than heretics, even though they're so rare.
