    Default Children cheat?

    My pontic dynasty (I forgot the name) is dying out, because they either have only daughters or no children at all. Are there children or fertility cheats?

    I don't know about cheats but if you want to preserve a certain dynasty for roleplaying reasons, you have to decline new candidates. Don't let your daughters marry and don't accept new members to your families. The amount of children your family members have is based on how big your empire is and how many family members are already in it.

    If you refuse new family members and don't let your daughters marry, eventually your existing family members will start to have lots of children.

    If you keep declining suitors, you will break your family tree. The game fixates on one person and keeps offering suitors to them, if you keep saying no, it will eventually stop asking (until that person dies) but won't move on to the next available one.

    Only accept them once your main line have had some male children. There's really no other way to keep a certain dynasty alive. You have to keep your family members low until the ones you want to survive have had some male children, and only then begin to admit new men into your tree.

    Hello,

    You may want to try these cheats ( and they are cheats.. so for you to know).

    Pick up the FM youd like him to have childrens, move him outside a city alone and target him. Be sure too he has room for 3 ancillaries ( so he can have 5 top before doing this)

    Open console and type these( erhh push enter after each sentence.. of course):

    remove_trait this Intertile ( this one just in case)
    give_trait this Fertile 3
    give_ancillary this misstress_eastern
    give_ancillary this doctor_eastern or give_ancillary this herbalist_eastern or give_ancillary this physician_eastern only one of these, they are exclusive each other.
    give_ancillary this priest_of_Atargatis this one is a HUGE cheat cause you giving your FM a priest from another culture ( i think you are able, if you get the messagge "that ancillary is not that from that culture" or whatever, skip this one) since it seems like Pontos doesnt have a priest with + fertility.

    With all these your FM should become a "making childrens machine" with a total +6 fertility ( not sure how is this measured, if it means +60% chance or whatever.. but he`ll have that "+6 fertility", well a +5 if game refuses to give him the priest from another culture).

    I dont remember of any other trait or ancillary that gives you + fertility bonus, i may have missed some.

    I hope this helps, regards:

    PD: i told ya already all this is a HUGE cheat, didnt i?

    Guys,
    1. in the case you refuse to accept a suitor, does the game cease to give children? (assuming there're a possibilty to do so: you've got a couple in a right age with less than 4 children)
    In other words: I know that the game "fixates on one person" and won't give a suitor to another FM general or another noble FM lady, but what about children?
    2. @melvidh: is this huge cheat able to overcome the engine's fixation on giving a suitor to a princess?
    cheers

    Erhh no, no. Those cheats only make your FM more likely to have childrens, either boys or girls. Even with those cheats your FM can have 4 daughters and still dont solve "the problem".
    Those arent related in any way with engine mechanism to assign suitors. Nor with the way engine decide who has to have childrens ( i think... engine may pick up candidates to have childrens among those with highest fertility, but this is a speculation). It only makes your FM more likely to have childerns if engine ( no clue how) decides your family needs/can have more members and engine decides ( no clue how) that the FM with ancillaries/traits is one of the candidates to have childrens. Cause i dont know either if when engine decides your family needs more members if it makes a group of candidates able to have childrens and check one-by-one till first of them get a children, if it checks all in that group of candidates ( i have had turn where more than a children "was born")..... etc, etc.

    You should accept marriage proposal max one or two turns after first proposal or else your others FM's won't get married. I think leaving FM's in cities will get them more chances to get married and sire a child. Running around all year around and forced marching will get them less fertile because exhausted has fertility penalty.

    You can also move mistress, priest ,witch, and doctor from FM's you don't want to have many children to your dynasty members. Less kids for them, more left for you (in case there is a limit for total amount of kids)

    I saw a settings for this in desr_campaign_db but I havent tried to change those:

    max_number_of_children which says family can have only 4 kids. So if you get 4 daughters your line is screwed. You can raise it to make fertile members to make more childs, but I would be very care careful with this as my huge FM tree was very unstable after 400 turns in my game.

    You can also lower daughters_retirement_age and max_age_for_marriage_for_female so they wont get married when they fertile age (40 years) is near end. This will also remove them from marriege proposal pool I think.

    There is also max_age_for_conception . I think it makes FM's able to have childs after 40 year, but it wil probably mean same for women.

    daughters_age_of_consent My guees is this mean age when your daughters can be married away. I think 12 was in Rome and 13 for Greece. https://books.google.sk/books?id=WVEjYPaeuTgC&pg=PA53&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q&f=fals

    Code:
    <family_tree>
          <max_age uint="95"/>
          <max_age_for_marriage_for_male uint="50"/>
          <max_age_for_marriage_for_female uint="40"/>
          <max_age_before_death uint="105"/>
          <max_age_of_child uint="10"/>
          <old_age uint="71"/>
          <age_of_manhood uint = "16"/>
          <daughters_age_of_consent uint = "14"/>
          <daughters_retirement_age uint = "40"/>
          <age_difference_min int = "0"/>
          <age_difference_max int = "15"/>
          <parent_to_child_min_age_diff uint = "12"/>
          <min_adoption_age uint = "16"/>
          <max_adoption_age uint = "40"/>
          <max_age_for_conception uint = "40"/>
          <age_of_manhood_close uint = "14"/>
          <max_number_of_children uint = "4"/>
       </family_tree>

    I have been lurking around and I have found explanations for that code http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...=1#post8326636

    So it should be safe to raise max_age_for_conception above 40 years for males only.
