I messed up my harddrive. Please help =(
I have a second internal harddrive that I use to move files from one computer to the other. I don't do this alot so I often keep it in this computer. However, whenever I unplug the HD from the other computer, it doesn't recognize my original HD. If I plug it back in, it works fine. I usually plug it back in, restart, unplug, and if I get lucky, it will work fine again.
But this time, I got really impatient and did the stupidest thing in the world. I unplugged the second HD while it was on. My computer completely shut off and now it won't even recognize either of the harddrive. I think I ruined them both =( Is reformatting the only option or is there another method?
I just plugged the harddrive that I unplugged while the power is on into this computer and it still works. It is the primary one on my other computer that won't.

Re: I messed up my harddrive. Please help =(
try resetting your BIOS . their's a hole into which you can stick a pin sized object , doing it will reset the BIOS and try it, it might work.
if you want help in resetting it then this might also help.
1. On the motherboard there is a small watch battery. Remove this battery along with the power cable from the power supply. Hold down the power button to fully discharge the system. Wait 2-3 minutes then reinstall the battery and plug in your system. Your reset is now complete
2. Some motherboards have a 3 pin jumper by the battery. Lets say that the jumper is on pins 2 and 3. Remove the jumper while the machine is OFF and place onto pins 1 and 2. Power on your machine for a minute. (Note: Your system will not POST). Shutdown your machine and put the jumper back to pins 2 and 3. Your reset is now complete
