It appears I have found a little quirk with the balance of power/autoresolve calculations. Apparently giving a melee or missile weapon 0 AP damage can lead to the balance of power bugging and freezing the whole game (requiring system restart or log off).
I have seen this when setting the AP attack value to dragon princes to 0 and loading up a custom battle or campaign battle with that unit. In custom battle the game immediately freezes after adding it to the army. In Multiplayer however where there is no balance bar during army selection there is no freeze and the unit can be used without trouble.
This is why I have come to the conclusion that there is something wrong in the autoresolve or balance of power calculations, perhaps a divide by zero that isn't checked. I am wondering if there is a way to correct this. Does anyone know a possible db table to do with autoresolve that I can look into?
If not I may just add a unit trait that subtracts 1 armour piercing damage to everyone and just make the minimum AP damage 1.
In addition to this I must note that this isn't always the case, for instance removing AP damage with spearmen was fine, but removing it for dragon princes was not.
