Default No male children being born

So i have come across this annoying problem in my rome campaign. It is currently the year 255bc and i have taken most if italy and sicily an am just about to conquer corsica but every time a child is being born it is a girl and my generals family names are in danger of dying out as they are all either in their late 40s or 60's. i usually dont like adopting into the family but it might be the only option i have. Is this shortage of male children a common occurence for any other XC players?

Number of male child in family seem to be semi-random. Engine of RTW seem to rigged number of possible male characters in familyand their age to based on empire size. Smaller empire would generate less number of possible new male children and average adopted/in law candidate will get older if we approaching family limit.

So it is likely that you have number of male family bigger than its threshold possible for current empire's size.
