I have tried updating pack file manager with the new schema version and the tables now load but the changes have no effect.

I have tested this with unit sizes and general stats with no result unfortunately .

Download the latest schema from here (108 for now):

    https://sourceforge.net/projects/pac...iles/Schemata/

Go to the folder where you installed PFM and uppack the downloaded schema to that folder.
    Override the existing files.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The new Desert Kingdoms tables are not included in the schema 108 so you need to add them:

¤ Find the master_schema file in the PFM folder and open it.
¤ Make a backup copy of master_schema file, just in case.
    ¤ Paste the tables from:
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...1#post15537981
into master_schema file after the other tables there.
¤ Make sure you paste it before the </schema> end line.
    ¤ Save the document.

    This happens sometimes, try this:

¤ Download the PFM 5.0 and unpack it to a different folder, if you old mod don't work with PFM 5.0 use a older version of PFM.
¤ Open your old mod and extract it.
¤ Go back to the updated version of PFM, create a new empty mod and import everything you extracted.
¤ Save and close the PFM.
    ¤ Open the new mod.

This should solve the problem, if not try to create the new mod using Assembly Kit.
Assembly Kit give you a warning if some of you files are bad, so if you have a bad file just redo it.

Works fine for me, but you need to give us a bit more info.
What are you trying to do? What game? What effect? and so on ...
Sometimes you need to redo the hole thing after CA makes a patch. Just use the latest files from CA and start over.
Make a new mod, make some changes and test it in game. If the new mod works, they you have a problem somewhere in your old files.

I recommend using the newest version. But you can download older version here.
If you have trouble viewing a specific table please use the according support thread, as I don't monitor this one.
Schema Version 108 runs stable with most db files for Rome, except the ones that were changed with Desert Kingdoms. There is an update provided by Dresden in the thread mentioned above.

Changes not having an effect in game should not be a PFM related issue.

I'm simply trying to change Rome 2 's Legatus unit to 80 men , along with changing mounts to 80 and max cap 80 for ship tranport.

I extract the files from data rome 2 then build my mod and insert the new columns . I then edit and save . It just won't work anymore.

I made a quick mod to test this and it's working fine for me. Tested in custom battles and on camping map.
Check the attach file for yourself. You can upload your own mod if you like so I can take a look at it.

Legatus is a general unit so the starting generals on the campaign map will still have 40 men, but all new recruited generals will have 80 men.
You need to edit the startpos file if you want to have 80 men for the starting generals. Startpos editing is for experienced modders so make some research before you start messing with it.

Also just for testing, try to make same changes for a regular unit like Principes and see if it's working.

Anyway check the attach mod and if it's not working for you, then you have a problem somewhere in your games files not whit the PFM.

    Hi Pawelrut,

Thanks, i'm having issues uploading my mod on here but have linked it here:

    https://ufile.io/5tbqo

Even with the Legatus unit the changes should effect multiplayer and should clearly be able to see the unit size change. I have tried with another unit but no result unfortunately.

Hi all. I think there's some problem with the schema updates.
Many tables are not present after the last Rome 2 patch and many others are out of date.
I'm working in the characters tables at present.
I posted in the Larynja tread, but no answer.

Thank you for making all of this.

But is the "update" feature of Pack File Manager supposed to always throw errors like this?

    Update failed
Could not determine latest versions: got,
    at packfilemanager.sourceforgeversionretriever..ctor(booleanfindbeta)
    atpackfilemanager.dbfiletypesupdater..ctor(booleanfindbetaschema)
    atpackfilemanager.packfilemanagerform.tryupdate(booleanshowsuccess, string currentpackfile)

I am using the latest version of Pack file manager and i get that error whenever i try to update.
Internet is working and the firewall/anti virus is properly set up but Pack still shows that error.

    .
No. That's what i pointed out one post above yours. This depends by the tables not updated.
I pointed out the problem in the appropriate thread and now there shoud be a new schema. Let's see how it will work. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...1#post15561192

Hi, i reported here that PFM can't be updated (nor manually, nor automatically) so we're forced to dowload the schemas and such. The link brings to a screenie.
THanks a lot for your precious work.

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
    enabled.

    For example:

    <configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
    </configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
