    Icon5 A few questions about WH2..

    Ok I have a few questions please. I have not been following this build so some questions may be noobish.

    1. Warhammer naval battles?, seeing how half the map is water are naval battles possible or fixed?. one faction has blockade port?, more factions will get that mechanic?.

    2. Minor settlement battles?

    3. Free LC,FLC. Playing empire is it free? what free content or races are announced?.

    4. If the maps are combined does that mean races like Empire etc will also have the vortex mechanics?.

    5. Blood? Free? Announced? when?.

    6. Seige Ai?, better? same as WH1?.

    7. Kaos and Vortex mechanics at once? when maps combine?.

    8. Shallows and Reefs in the water? what does that mean?.

    9. Fortification stance, is that possible in WH2?.

    10. Is empire or the old world on the map now?.

    11. Also shield wall etc, are there different stances for soldiers?

    1) fixed auto resolve. Dark elves have black arc unit which is the only ship unit. Don't know about blockade port.
    2) no minor settlement battles but defenders get an advantageous map on minor settlement battles.
    3) free content announced is blood pack if you own it, mortal empires campaign if you own both
    4) vortex mechanics won't exist in mortal empires campaign (combined map)
    5) free if owned before, "couple weeks" for it to be released
    6) same, campaign AI is way better and harder in Vh
    7) no vortex only chaos I think
    8) shallow and reefs cause attrition to naval units
    9) encamp stance gives you melee bonus but no fort
    10) old world not on map yet, empire factions are on the map currently as new world colonies etc
    11) no fortify stance but guard mode is back

    1) No proper naval battles. Probably won´t happen at all (my reasoning is, each faction is using vastly different tech like viking ships vs ship of the line vs ramming ship vs magic etc...may be without boarding actions but then the transported army is for no use..) Blockable ports? Nope.

    2) Like without walls? You can as defender sally out. (I would check workshop for mods, they did amazing things for WH1 battle maps especially cities. BTW: maps in WH2 are of better quality with choke points etc. Sieges are so far pretty same)

    3) If you own WH1 and DLCs for it, factions will be playable in MP and Mortal Empires campaign. All races/factions even from DLCs will be added into Vortex/Mortal Empires campaign fot AI to play with. If you want to play them yourself, you have to buy them. WH1 had total 9 factions (4base+1free, 2 big DLCs, 1 WH1 preorder + 1 WH2 preorder) so we can expect similar content here. No idea about free faction. Only info so far is, next big DLC will feature 4 LL instead of having minicampaign )and that is probably Tomb Kings)...after that we are quessing. Probably Araby, some sort of Mercenary/Rogue armies linked with Tilea,Estalia. Second big DLC should be about Skaven from old datamined info and my idea is we might get pack of LL for old World faction like Karak Zorn,Oreon,Vampire Coast,Suddenburg ..

    4) Mortal Empires campaign will be without Vortex mechanics, basically free for all. WH1 factions will be probably tweaked as heroes are now level 40 and probably some units changes to keep overall balance.

    5) Blood DLC will be free for owners of WH1 version. Soon (TM) (probably with next bigger patch, first big DLC / FLC - Mortal Empires)

    6) AI overally better. For example if AI has advantage in range it will try to spend firstly ammunition before advancing. Not sure if all AI personally follow same pattern plus AI is not great with Skaven at moment...they are simply too extremely different.

    7) We are getting separated campaigns. The Chaos invasion will happen in Mortal Empires as we need Chaos faction in some way right now to play it. :-) More info about Mortal Empires campaign: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...1#post15409768

    8) Map hazard to travel across, same with storms. Basically getting attrition.

    9) Like having field fortication if enemy attack? We have ambush stance or encamp stance that gives you melee bonus. Stances depends on race.

    10) Empire on Vortex campaign? Nope but we have empire factions which have access to old world units. Steam tanks, Luminarks. ;-)

    11) Guard mode? If you mean active abilities some units have some.

    I think you can set in the game setting to have guard mode and skirmish mode on/off before starting the game. By default, both are on though I turn them off and manually set during each ore battle set up.
