what weapons should u use for a siege because rams tend to get burnt too quickly ladders and siege towers means u need alot of infantry and you get stuck in between 2 lots of people trying to kill u on both sides

In my experience towers tend to get torched pretty quick. Two rams, and 2 ladders is generally what I go with.
Seiges are definitely a part of the game that could have a little more done to it. It would be nice to see an option for a defending army on the walls to knock the ladders off or pull a Kingdom of Heaven and knock the seige towers over somehow.

another way i fouind out is that if you have some spare cvarly then ride them out and attack siege equipment if they have nothing to get inside the castle then tough luck
In RTW, thats all I ever did. Big contingents of cavalry, go out of the side walls, flank their cavalry, then up the rear of the advancing infantry. With this, a sally from your men from the front to stop their siege engines, and you're fine.
Attacking... hmm... do you still have onagers on M2TW?
i try to build ballista maker as early as i can and add at least 1 unit of ballista to my army, so i dont need to build any more siege equipment, just come and blow enemies gates![]()
do what it says in the tut, send one unit in front as a decoy and then send the ram in, they get so caught up in attacking the decoy you can just waltz in with the ram
Two rams and a few ladders or towers if you have superior quality infantry troops. Move both rams up to the gate and they will have a very hard time burning both. Move your infantry to the walls to flank if they only guard the walls lightly. I would bring your general right up to the walls to prevent your men from routing and keep spamming the rally button every time you can. If the walls are heavily guarded abandon the ladders and rush through the gate. Order your missile troops to the ladders/towers and get them on the walls after your infantry are through and the enemy abandons them (which they most likely will).
If your infantry are superior in number, but equal or lesser quality, build rams and bring up siege engines. Break through the walls at several places and divide the enemy among them.
If your infantry is neither superior in quality, or in numbers and you have the advantage in cavalry or missile, then starve the enemy out. Harrass his flanks with your cavalry once he has started to sally. Your moves in this battle will then depend on the troop types and strengths of both armies:
If the enemy has only infantry and missile troops, his missiles will sally out and hold just outside the gate while his infantry charge your own. If you have cavalry, flank him and charge his missiles until they rout, then pursuing them inside with your cavalry to capture the gate. Finish the routers with your lighter cavalry and use your heavy cavalry to hit his line in the back.
If they enemy sallies out and has heavy cavalry that is comparable to your own, then form your line back farther and he will charge long before his infantry reaches you. Counter his charge with your own to eliminate his ability to 'form charge'. Quickly move in your infantry to support. Then dispatch his infantry in normal order.
If you have missile troops capable of firing flaming ammo, use it. To make the sallying enemy run will allow you to capture the gates and dispatch his army even quicker. If you do not have superior melee troops, then you must not allow a significant number of your enemies to retreat to the city square.
I hope this short treatise on siege warfare in M2TW helps!

Realists are like a captain who knows how to sail, but not where he is going.
