    Default Settlement Viewer

As always, first order of business is to pay homage to the great and illustrious EBII, and its faithful creators!

Now, down to business. I remember in Rome there was a function for viewing settlements, and there is also a mini-mod for Medieval 2 (if I am not mistaken) that allows for that as well, if in only a slightly hackneyed way. I was wondering if it is possible in EBII to view one's settlements on the battle map, or if we can only get that if/when someone sieges them? I ask because on sieging some other territories I noticed that certain settlements look awesome (the Illyrian rebel settlement just across from Patavium [something starting with an "N", I think] looked awesome, but I was busy cutting down Illyrians, and couldn't really appreciate it. Also, it was full of corpses when I saw it, which detracted a bit from its quaint celtic look ).

So, the question is, can we view our settlements in EBII? If not, is there some way we can try to make that possible, perhaps by jury-rigging the other settlement viewer mod into the EBII files (though I would be very hesitant about this, knowing how much it could royally screw stability)?

I don't know the answer to the meat of your question, but you're thinking of Nesakton (or something close to that), which becomes Nesactium when Roman.

To the best of my knowledge, this was an RTW feature absent from M2TW (i.e. hard coded). Now if there IS a minimod that resurrects that feature, we'd be very interested in learning more about it.

That is indeed correct, as far as I know. Buuuut...

From reading about the mod, it seems to function by creating a rebel faction that sieges the city with a single unit of catapults, but the attacking army has no AI; i.e. they sit there and don't do anything. It seems to be a pretty simple thing actually, so it might not be that hard to incorporate, but I am no modder, so that may be bs.

I have just done two adaptations of Alpaca's Settlement Viewer for other mods and will do one for the current EB II release and will put it out as a submod. It will have to wait for a week or two however since I am packing up my wife and cats and moving to higher ground due to a stupid hurricane. This is provided my house and computer aren't underwater.
