The Archbishop of Canterbury Cardinal Thomas Bourchier lifted the interdiction that he placed over the city London, the excommunication prevented the any Londoners from receiving any of the holy sacraments causing a huge pile of unfulfilled services such as wedding, baptisms, absolution, and burial. Father Michael arrived in London at the behest of the monsigeur in Canterbury, the people of London required shepherding and Edward would start his mission there. Edward stood in front of the London Cathedral offering his help to anyone who was in need, whether it was the shirt off his back or one of the many holy sacraments he was ready to help

The new priest would find many who were in need of aid whether they be poor or aggrieved citizens of London who had lost loved ones without the benefit of the sacraments or burial within consecrated ground.
