    Default Switzerland and Swabia

    Henry de Clifford - oft known as Harry - ventured across the border into the Almain side of Bar, before riding on towards Swabia. The Baron traveled with a small retinue - mainly bodyguards. The small company had little need for culture, and rode hard and fast to their destination - a large band of German Landchnekts. On their arrival, the Baron would seek a meeting with their Captain.

    While watchful of the strangers, the mercenaries eventually take Henry Clifford to see their leader after he had handed over his weapons. The captain, a large man with a wild black beard and clad in red and white attire, presented himself as Goddard von Salzburg. With a stern face, he stared at Clifford. He spoke a little French, though his accent was quite heavy.

    "Who bist you, mein herr, und how can Ich help? Ich know your banner not."

    "I am Sir Henry de Clifford, Baron de Clifford. I am here to inquire of the size of your company and the price which will be required to hire it. I serve the true King of England, and I feel we need men of your.... persuasion to reclaim the Throne."

    Company of the Edelweiss
    Troop composition: 10% Heavy Cavalry, 20% Light Cavalry, 40% Melee Infantry, 30% Missile Infantry

    Size roll (D20):
    1-5 = 100-500 men
    6-19 = 1,000-5,000 men
    20 = 10,000 men

    Roll: 19 = 5,000 men

    Price roll (D20):
    1 = 200% of regular recruitment
    10 = 100% of regular recruitment
    20 = 50% of regular recruitment

    Roll: 16 = 70% of regular upkeep

    Contract length (D5):

    Roll: 2 = 2 years of service

    Company of the Edelweiss
    500 German Men-at-Arms
    1,000 Hungarian Hussars
    2,000 Swiss Halberdiers
    1,500 Italian Crossbowmen

    Contract: £21,700

    Captain Goddard showed a toothy grin as he went to one of his coffers and pulled forth a document. It was a contract detailing the price, length of service and the exact number of men in the company. They were clearly an organized and disciplined group.

    "Wir are die Edelweisskompanie, Mein Herr Clifford. 5,000 Mann unter mine kommando, from all of Reich. Andere great kompanie disband hundred years ago, but wir still marching. Nur 21,700 ducats for 2 years, und wir will gladly take back Englischer Thron."

    OOC: The Swiss Halberdiers will get a +2 when facing any unit due to their apparent discipline.

    Clifford smiled. "I shall take this contract to my liege and receive the payment. I shall return shortly enough, my friend."
