    Sir William Stanley

    SIR WILLIAM STANLEY
    Lord of Kilbolane Castle

    Born 1440(41)

Status: Married, to Lady Margaret Stafford.
Children: Alice Stanley - Born 1471(10), Henry Stanley - Born 1472(9)

    Traits(6):
    +3 Battles
    +3 Charisma

    Sanguine
    - Confident: This character is very self-assured, brimming with confidence and difficult to shake even under pressure. However, taken to an extreme, they can show a suicidal disregard for their life and the lives of others, and fail to take...well, failure into account when planning. +1 battle rolls, +1 to rout rolls against this character.

    - Sociable: This character is an extroverted social butterfly, capable of making friends left and right. However, they have little time for 'boring' matters like finances, and are more interested in buying flashy things to show off to their friends than managing their wealth. +1 Charisma, -2% income.

    Supine
    - Amiable: This character is a pleasant person who tries very hard to get along with everyone s/he meets. Indeed, perhaps too hard, at that...they also tend to excessively seek validation from others, and at worst can be described as clingy ticks. +1 Charisma, -1 to duel rolls.

    Biography:
The middle so of Thomas Stanley the Elder, Sir William had no lands to call his own. He made a good marriage to Lady Margaret Stafford, and had two children by her.

Sir William followed the Duke of Clarence to Ireland, where he served as one of his retinue and a senior commander in the whole bloody affair. Over the course of the war, he proved himself an able commander and was eventually awarded with Kilbolane castle and significant estates in Munster.

Sir William is an ambitious and opportunistic man, with no real loyalties - unlike his brother Thomas. Fond of wealth and power, Sir William has no issues with simply changing sides to achieve his goals.

A letter is brought to the family of Sir William Stanley

    Dear Lady Stanley,

It regrets me to write to thee, because it is with heavy hart I must inform thee of thy Husbands death.
Your husband was taken prisoner by the Irish clan of Maccarthy. He had accomplished some initial victories against the Irish clan before being attacked, defeated and captured.
The clan informed me of his capture and demanded a ransom of 200 English Pounds. These demands were met and Sir Stanley was released. On our way back to Dublin, unknown Irishmen attacked our column in which Sir Stanley was mortally struck and died.

Most of his attackers were killed in the resulting skirmish and were made an example as punishment.

    Signed, Waxed and sealed.
John Talbot, The Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Third Earl of Shrewsbury, KG, etc etc.
