Re: Courtenay House
One rainy morning in late spring, a group of riders carrying two banners, one depicting the arms of Devon and the other being the arms of Courtenay with a quarter to represent the house of Woodeville ride through London and stop at the small courtyard of a manor house, startling several servants of Devon who scramble to assist the arrivals to dismount and one retainer of Devon runs into the manor to inform him of the new arrivals. "My lord, your family has arrived..they bring news from Devon.." Devon rises from his chair quickly, knocking the goblet of wine he had off the table onto the floor and follows the man through his manor to the drawing room, where his family had relocated to.
Upon his entrance into the drawing room, the Earl's three eldest children run towards their father, who smiles and embraces each one before moving to sit next to his wife."Rohesia, Charles, Edward. What is this news you bring from Devonshire..it must be important for the entirety of our house to be present." Devon says, noting the young Viscount de Courtenay and Baldwin de Courtenay, the sons of his uncles John and Henry, being present as well along with Edward's family. "Riders brought word of a large host landing in Devonshire, dear." "We don't know anything else, brother. Your wife thought it would be wise to abandon Tiverton as with your host here in London, there would be only a token force left as the garrison." "Indeed." Devon rises up from his chair. "Get a horse ready, immediately!" He shouts at a servant, who scurries off to carry out the command. "Brother?" "Hugh?" Devon turns back to his wife and brother. "You did the right thing, my dear. The Red Rose has returned, and due to the actions of some of our house during their last invasion, I would not consider Devon safe for our family either. I now must ride to Baynard's to inform the crown of this.' Devon then leaves the drawing room, followed a few minutes later by Edward, Rohesia, and Charles, who decided to join the earl. Within the hour, the four ride for Baynard's with a retinue of twenty men at arms.

Re: Courtenay House
A rider from the West Country arrives to inform the Countess of Devonshire and the other members of the de Courtenays of the reclamation of the castles of Tiverton and Okehampton by the host of Devon. The next day, the de Courtenays still present at the estate, along with the servants and retainers who came with them begin their journey back to Tiverton.
