A letter penned by the earl of Salisbury and the duke of Bedford politely request Lord Devon to raise in arms in defense of the regency, who was threatened by traitors and vagrants, unworthy of even being considered part of the peerage. The queen is in need of her allies and sipporters, that are to be rallied in Hampshire, which lays relatively close go Devonshire itself.

With rumors of a massive invading army being located somewhere in Devon, the family and relatives of the Earl of Devon, escorted by the few retainers of Devon who remained in Tiverton, flee the castle for London with anything they can carry.
