Loyalty increases
Hello Everyone!
I have a doubt.
How can I increase loyal points to my FM, Generals, Client Rules?
Is there any specific building or thing to do in order to get more loyalty for them?
(in Some mod is staying with the faction leader or in the capital) I guess EB2 has a more complex way of see the Loyalty.
does all the factions have the some way to get loyalty?
Thanks for the answer

Re: Loyalty increases
Hi Julio,
I'm not that inclined to go digging around in the files to find out exactly how stuff works. It's a game and I think the fun is in playing it to find out what works. As a general rule of thumb, if characters are kept busy doing things they like and don't get stuck somewhere to rot they will generally stay reasonably loyal or become more loyal, if they aren't predisposed to rebelliousness. I can never work out whether base loyalty is to the faction (patriotism) or to the regime in charge. Loyalty can change with the faction leader, and sometimes a more obviously well-qualified and able new faction leader makes some characters less loyal, in my experience. Characters generally seem to like glory.....war, conquest, booty, plunder. They don't like to see the faction losing battles and territory. Cities far from the capital suffer a distance bonus to public order. Client rulers, from what I've observed, seem to like to be left alone to develop their little empire. You are responsible for granting them their power, and they seem disposed towards gratitude if you don't dispel the illusion that they are running the show. My genuine feeling is that if you treat the characters as if they were real people with real feelings, the modded game engine does a very decent job of replicating that without the need to have the coded formula.

Re: Loyalty increases
Go to ebii\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign
Open descr_strat.txt with Notepad++
Look for the FM you want to edit, example:
; Region: Dahyu_Daha
; --------------------
character Phrapates ofparthia, named character, male, leader, age 56, x 380, y 200
traits Factionleader 3 , ParthiaDaha 3 , EthnoDetermined 1 , NaturalIntelligence 4 , NaturalCharisma 4 , NaturalEnergy 3 , Selflessness 3 , Temperament 2 , LoyaltyLevel 4 , PhrapatesBiography 1 , Settled 1, CommandExperience 4 , GoodTactician 1 , GoodLeader 1 , PublicFaith 1 , GoodAdministrator 1 , Austere 1 , AncillariesAvailable 3 , Father 3
ancillaries foodtaster , aged_retainer_eastern
Notice "LoyaltyLevel 4", "4" is the value for loyalty level.
Well I misanderstood your question lol but anyway this is where you can look for that stuff. To change traits stuff is export_descr_character_traits.txt and ancillaries is export_descr_ancillaries.txt both in data folder.

Re: Loyalty increases
There is a base loyalty level, which depends on the individual (can be seen ingame). Factors that affect it are traits (Selfish/Unselfish), faction standing (the bigger the faction, the more disloyal), faction leader (his authority is a good indicator, but things like losing battles will make other lose respect for him, losing loyalty).
There is also the "court loyalty" script, which makes possible to slightly increase loyalty, by putting the Faction leader on the capital with the disloyal character. He will gain a pip or two, however i am unsure of how permanent these effects are.
There are likely other factors that i am unaware of, like it has been said, generally it is quite organic and makes sense if you think about the characters as people.

Re: Loyalty increases
The court loyalty is probably still WIP-ish, I tried it a couple of times during various campaigns, and while they're a nice bonus for carthage and rome who needs to send FM to their capitals often the extra loyalty pip didn't stay for long.
I also would like to point out that some traits like supervisor, humanitarian, brute, etc are a good indicator to know what job they like and how to keep them happy, didn't know the exact bonus but most of my satisfied FM tend to have a higher loyalty compared to those that are not.
Truth be told as long as your the authority of your FL is around 4 or more you shouldn't be worrying about their loyalties, if it wasn't high enough send the FL to battles, if you're really worried about some of the FM with low loyalty taking your army just make sure they aren't the ones leading.
I've had FM with zero loyalty stay with me for the rest of their life. Of course they weren't doing any important jobs (even as a governor, since they're incredibly corrupt)

Re: Loyalty increases
Julio,
Early in the Parthian game you have to take special note of the ethnicity of the various tribal groups. Everyone is happier governing in their own tribal area. If you put a Dahaen governor in charge of Nisa, everyone gets rather cross.
