freeze/crash on campagin start

as the title says. I was able to start a campaign before i installed the patch. after 2.2r the game freezes when i hit the start campaign button and eventually goes not responding once i click somewhere forcing it to crash.

That's not a freeze, its generating a new map. You need to wait, possibly for 5 minutes.

If you break the operation, you need to repatch and do it again, leaving it alone this time.
