    After a few months away from EB I've been itching to play again so I installed the 2.2r patch and started a new campaign but to my chagrin the game now crashes while loading a campaign or a custom battle. Admittedly I'm playing on Linux with Wine so the game was always a bit unstable while loading or playing a battle but now battles are completely unplayable. Battles still work in vanilla and in 2.2b so I'm hoping this is a general EB issue and not a Linux one. I've tried re-installing EB and I also tried re-downloading and re-installing the updated animations and neither of these approaches fixed the problem.

    Something's gone wrong there, because that unit works fine.

    I figured out what the problem was. The first letter of the unit_models/_Units folder name was capitalized in the 2.2r patch, but in the base 2.2b install it wasn't, so when I installed the patch Linux didn't merge the two folders together, because it differentiates between capitalized and uncapitalized folder names. The game was looking for the capitalized folder so it couldn't find any of the unit meshes, hence the crashing. I copied everything from unit_models/_units over to unit_models/_Units, deleted the _units folder, and now battles load up just fine.

    If anyone else is playing on Linux and having inexplicable crashes I think this is something to look out for.

    It's capitalised in the patch, because it's capitalised in the base build. So that's very specifically a Linux issue.
