Greetings,
First off, congratulations on the excellent effort with EB2. After a several years away from EB1, I'm happy to resume playing the next generation.
This report involves the battlemap outside of Tarentum. Playing as the Romans, I have now twice encountered this, first when laying siege and being attacked by reinforced Epirotes sallying out, and most recently with a rebel force encamped on the outskirts. The first time the situation resolved itself after I killed the program and the Epirote reinforcements marched north after I lifted the siege and I dispatched them separately. Now, regrettably, I have rebels encamped in the unplayable area and I am unable to evict them. The main Roman force which I have brought to attack from the north starts bunched together on the red line and in the deployment phase I am unable to deploy anywhere in the deployable area. The opposing force starts similarly bunched. Starting the battle does not relieve the issue, as I am unable to move any of my units including the reinforcements under my control. As for the enemy, they don't move an inch regardless of how much time elapses.
I have attached screenshots; any suggestions for a workaround are welcome. I have tried approaching from different angles to no avail, and bribery has been unsuccessful, but then again all of my diplomats are uniquely untalented.
A side issue concerning the government of Rhegium: I established an oligarchic Allied state, but was never presented the option of installed a client ruler (no such problem in Tarentum). Is this on occasion normal, or a bug? Aside from the misfortune arising from an earthquake, the townsfolk seem to be getting along well without one :~)
Regards,
Dave
