When do Celtic armor upgrades trigger?

Hey guys, long time EB fan, on my first EB2 campaign as the Boii, really digging the mod ^_^

so, I'm at year 242, the "riders" reform auto triggered a few dozen turns ago (as in I didn't meet the battle requirements, it triggered randomly. I know they triggered bc I can recruit heave cav and Celtic slingers now) but my bataroi unit cards still say "next armor upgrade 1st reform"

what gives?

were they supposed to trigger on the first reform but it bugged out? If so, is there anything I can fiddle with in some of the EDUs to fix this?

Do I only get the upgrade once I meet the battle requirements of the first reform?

Do they not actually trigger until the second reform?

The first upgrade is with the universal Thorakitai reform in 222BC. The second is with the Celtic Twilight reform which is some time in 1st century BC.

Thanks! Is it supposed to trigger immediately in 222, or just sometime randomly thereafter? I'm already into year 221 and the changes don't seem to have occurred yet.

It might be a turn or two after, and if it fails (as happens occasionally) there's a fallback a couple of years later.

You won't get a notification, only the Hellenistic factions do, but it still triggers.

I was an idiot. Didn't notice that I had to retrain my bataroi at my high lvl factional govts.
