    Default Retraining units bug

    Playing 2.2p, as Pergamon.

Repeatedly it has happened that I am trying to retrain a (full) unit (e.g. thureophoroi and machairophoroi) in a city that produces the same unit but with experience (due to a gymnasion), but the unit does not get retrained -- I can select the unit for retraining and I get charged for it, but no change is made to the unit by the next turn. Instead, I can select the same unit again for retraining, over and over without any result (except financial ruin ...).

This clearly does not make the game unplayable or anything, and I would even accept that it is impossible to retrain units in that manner (you can't make up for years of not having a gymnasion in 3 months), but then the unit should not appear as being available for retraining either. One way or the other, this is a bug.

I've noticed it myself sometimes; there's an M2TW bug with retraining that we can't do anything about.

    Hello,

Solution/work arround to solve this, call it whatever, is to make the retraining thingy last thing in turn. Anything that involves the use of buildings that gives you chevrons to units, either freshly recruited ones or retrained ones, must be done as last thing in turn, very last thing to do. After that, dont move a spy, dont put any building in building queue, nothing at all (be sure no unit is doing automovement from a previous turn movement order or it will screw it too). Do your full turn and when all is done.. then add recruit/retrain. Works for army and not sure about navy. I think it is a solution/work arround for any EB II 2.2xx version since it "solves" the MTW2 "bug", at least i have been using this with 2.2b, 2.2h, 2.2m i have played.
