Separate mod install noob...
Well i never had more than one mod on my computer, but since there are so many good ones, i decided to do multiple installs. I know how one way of doing this is to make copies of the original rome folder, which i did the're all in the activision folder distinquished by 1st copy, 2nd copy, etc. Now i installed BI on the original folder and then made a copy of it in order to play different BI mods but this is where the problem seems to be:
What i had, the original BI folder, and the copied one. I then installed IBFD on the original, and wanted to see if the copied one would still play the unmodded BI, but it would not work. I would like to successfully make copies of the RTW: BI folders in order to play multiple BI mods. I have been successful in just the RTW multiple installs, but BI copying does not seem to work.

Re: Separate mod install noob...
I'm not sure if I'm completely following what you have done,
when you say you copied the BI version did you copy all of it or just the BI folder? I'm sure you need to copy all of it including the Rome Total-War/data part as installing BI also updates some RTW/data files and I think the packs within it.
If you have space and copy the whole vanilla install multiple times you shouldn't have any problem having multiple mods.
If you just copy the BI folder within a RTW version that has had BI installed then you can theoretically install a BI mod on that and revert to the original by renaming the folders so when you don't want to use IBFD etc you rename its 'BI' folder IBFD_BI or whatever and your 'copy of BI' back to BI. That will only work though if the BI mod hasn't made major changes to the RTW/data folder - and many of them do.....
Also beware when trying to keep copies intact that some patches and mods default to installing to the original installation directory - so don't leave anything you don't want overwritten on the original installation path.
There is also a mod switcher program you could try
http://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showth...light=jonesoft
(live link is on last post) but I've not actually used that so can't comment.
