AGP Card

Well im thinking of buying a Geforce 7800GS for my AGP system i was wondering if it would run Oblivion And Medieval 2 Total War Good On High Settings?

I would buy a PCI E card but that would be too much money i would have to buy a new CPU and motherboard and then the video card and my price limit is $280
so i dont think i could.

I Was also wondering if anyone has that card do they know how big it is cause my case isnt very big.

i also need a new video card and i really have no diea what pcie and agp are ro what their differences are. all i know is a few years ago i went otu and bought a geforce4 mx4000 and plugged it in and it worked fine and now i need pixel shader 1.1 support for m2tw. ive been told i have agp slots only what the hell does that mean?

Well AGP Slots are called AGP4X/8X and theyre older now but still not obselete and then theres the PCI Express X16 and thats the newest thing but you need a specfic motherboard to enable that and your mx400 is very very outdated.

Well im preety sure you have the AGP4X 8X cause you had that card and im sure its AGP 4X 8X but i dunno how to check what you have

With the card you need i reccomend looking on newegg.com and looking in the AGP 4X 8X section and find a card that you can buy.

what ur cpu ? ram ? it might be time for a new computer to run medieval 2, not only a new video card...
post ur dxdiag (= start menu -> run -> write dxdiag -> enter and save to file)

and how would you nkow if ti supports pixel shader 1.1 since that seemed to be my only problem? is that lieka standard feature and my outdated card is missing it?

u obviously look on the manufacturers website on specifications...
most likely ur sytem will only be able to run m2tw only on low settings, no matter the video card
u generally need a video card that is 100% directx 9.0c compatible
