Default Unspecified error when trying to launch

Howdy, long time no see. Returned to see the immense progress and decided I'd try to install a brand new copy of EBII and alas it's not working, something about an unspecified error; zipped error file attached. Any insight into what I've done wrong would be most helpful.

    thanks, j0ker

What version are you playing? Did you follow all the installation instructions?

I can't see anything obvious in that log:

    Code: [View]
    23:04:20.248 [system.io] [info] exists: found mods/ebii/data/vegetation/vegetation.db (from: E:\assorted stuff to keep\ebII)
    23:04:20.248 [system.io] [trace] file open,,mods/ebii/data/vegetation/vegetation.db,411412
    23:04:20.249 [system.io] [info] open: found mods/ebii/data/vegetation/vegetation.db (from: E:\assorted stuff to keep\ebII)
23:04:20.755 [system.rpt] [error] Unspecified error. Please compress your error log in a zip format and upload it on the EBII technical help forum.
The only thing that does jump out at me is that it might not like the spaces in the path; the shorter the better, why not E:\ebII?

I started with the announcement last June then followed up with the update in November, so my game is updated to 2.2q:

How updated does MTWII need to be? I have the game on CD and it updates to 1.03 or something, then I have a separate disc that can update the game to 1.3 - perhaps the original game needs to be current to whenever the last time it was updated?

That's the only thing that I was concerned about, perhaps I'll start fresh with a simpler path name.

UPDATE: Reinstalling to a simpler path name did the trick; I'd recommend putting something in the installation instructions to keep the folder names very short in addition to keeping the game out of the default (Program files) folder. Thanks for your input QuintusSertorious!

You need Kingdoms v1.05 to play.
