    Default [GS EVENT] Interregnum II

Any Crowned forces in Valenwood. Won miracle victories against them. Also being told you defeated the tiny army sieging the city would also have been nice.

It might not have an effect on your victories existing, but can effect the war itself.

Well, then there's admin for you. I wouldn't myself mind a replay of 2 previous turns as we've done a lot of mistakes which could have been avoided had I time to take a closer look at them the moment our alliance was up.
The stack that you say was defeated came from Anvil.
And yes, the 16 men unit sieging Velyn was also defeated.

no as the admin explained to me last turn [and for what I was fined] if a opponent defeats a enemy who's turn is afterwards..they lose movement and cannot move. But alternatively if the defeated army gets his new turn before the victor..he gets his movement back..[but he is not allowed to move ..due to the mechanics of other armies suffering the movement lose] . I would advise that the army coming down from anvil is fine to move as they wish but the armies commanded by "Mizrad al Mardea" and "Serosh al hallen" cant move ...

I think as this is the "first" offense for you and Starks machine is in problems..there is two ways we can go with this..one is that we carry on with the turn for speed and then the admin fines the redguard faction for moving armies [when they shouldn't move for 2 armies] and we carry on ..or two , we can return the turn and perhaps u can do a return of all the fights? with advise from Stark etc, but u would need all the password and previous actions , so u can repeat most of what has been done...I leave the result of what u wish to happen to u.

Admiral Peregrinne looked desperately out across into the Abecean sea were there naval forces of the dominion had been attacked by vast superior redguard naval vessels .The battle was going badly at sea for the dominion ships as the massive numbers of ships from hammerfell had the strength of the wind with them, and they sailed directly into the dominion fleet .Some of the smaller naval vessels were zig zaging into the formation of the dominion and unloading the occasion burst of arrowfire, whereas the larger ships perfered to grapple and close for ship to ship combat. The fires at sea hung low on the horizon, outlined by the setting sun which made the sea cast a ever more red hume ripple to the water .The admiral could'nt watch as one of the dominion ships started to sink into the sea, the bow of the ship slowly sinking into the murky depths. He turned his thoughts to the redguard large town inland, where his marines had stormed the walls. There had been little resistance on the walls and most of the little redguard which had remained, held close to a manor house located near the centre of the town and were easily dispatched. The damage to the town was severe, as in most actions where the marines were called into action, but he suspected that the original garrison of redguards, had headed south to take part in the actions in valenwood .This left the redguards coastline without significant garrisons and he planned to take advantage of this situation.

"What are your orders admiral?", A nearby marine officer moved forward, and banged his fist against his heart to honour the admirals position.
"We head to strike the redguards coastline , marine!" , Peregrinne grinned to the marine to keep his spirits up, "There is plenty of raiding to do yet!"
"But how are we going to travel" , the marine quickly asked, with one glance at the sea , which now showed another dominion ship sinking on the horizon out to sea..
"Legs , marine!. You remember how to use em ?" , the admiral spoke bruskly to the officer, with perhaps a little more angst than was necessary. The admiral paused to take breath and stock of the situation he was now in . The position currently they faced was not one he wished, but you have to make your own fortune sometimes in war, he mused.

"Courage , lad" , he finally said , "Take up what kit we can carry and prepare to leave this ...", he indicated the town behind him , " dump and march to burn any redguard settlements we can find.."
The marine saluted again and marched off to direct some of the marines who where starting to take a break in the setting sun to pick up there gear and get ready to move out..

Ayreen read the buildup of forces on the eastern isle of summerset and considered the forces involved. Bitting back her fears, she ordered the admiral stationed at the port to ready the ship for departure. She herself will face the daedra in combat she had decided, for she could not look her soilders in the eye, unless she was personally risking her life as well. She grinned at the anger it would cause Razum and Cariel and sent a message to the lord of Shimmerene to ready all his forces to aid in this action. Also as a secondary thought , she asked for a messenge to be sent to Vulkhel Guard to order Prince Naemon to appear for the battle and prove his loyalty to the dominion in the face of his wife leading the veiled heritage.

Climbing aboard the ship , a sudden calm came to her , as she briefly re-lived her sea going adventures in her memories, but the moment passed and she began to dance and clambour around the ship and rope, barking orders at the sailors , as a true born captain.

    ------------------------------

The Fortress at Abibon Gora stood tall in the light of the bright sun as hordes of wayrestian troops, which had moved out during the early morning marched forward to the walls and camped on there doorstep. The noise from the marching troops filled the air and the cloud of dust from the trailing feet of the army was impressive , which near blocking out the sun as it held in the air. The legions of highrock began to establish camps around the fortress and the minor garrison of twenty men looked out at their doom .They had been been selected for this mission and they knew there fate. They all had heirs to there estates and they were all selected at random from a draw and they were happy[or so they said] to give there lives for the dominion , to slow the progress of there foes. One of the aldmeri troopers sat down and started to use a nearby grindstone to sharpen his cavalry sabre , but the noise was diminished by the still marching troops of the royal army of wayrest commanded by King Emeric himself moving into position.

    -----------------------------------

The night was still dark when Arfanel reequiped his light admeri armour and weapons, as he had for the last couple of days been hidden in the city of dawnbreak, with all but a small catche of water and food to keep him alive. He did a few light excersises during the quiet times of the daeadra garrison, every day to keep himself supple. He had managed to climb into the city, after it had been taken and the daedra were still concerned about moving the majority of the civlian population through the portal, and back to coldharbour. Whilst the daedra were busy in this task, he with his mer skills had little problem hiding in a bell tower inside the town which overlooked the citygate.
From his high position he could observe the daedra garrisons movements and daily tasks, and with this information believed he had found a slight mistake in their patrols guarding the city. There was one period where only one guard watched over the gate between the change of shift , and this was perhaps a narrow window, which could be utilized .He had been asked to enter the city , hold his position and if he ever heard the sounds of a certain bird-call , he was to use his intiative to somehow open the gate. For the last few days he had heard of the movements of a army which from his position he had managed to confirm it was the dominion , and from that day onwards his senses were on overtime, as he bent back his mer ears to wait and listen for the call. It seemed this morning was the time, as he now heard the birdcall, which had been taught to him, back in the days, from his seniors from the "eyes of queen" academy and knew that the time to act was today.

His armour readied, he flex'ed his bow and waited for the time for the shot. A rope he had tied to stanchion of the tower and waited to throw the rest down, to make a quick and speedy movement to the gates and all that remained is to wait for the right time.

Another hour went by and finally the guard change began .In the gloom of the early morning, his eyes pinpointed the last remaining guard that still paced near the gate inself. A quick study of the surrounding gatehouse and nearby towers revealed the situation was as he expected, and no other guards were present. He quickly selected his best arrow from his quiver and loaded his bow and took careful aim, of the lone daedra guard as it would take a great shot to fell one from this distance.

The wind in the early morning was light and it was not gonna be a major factor. He took in a deep breath, concentrated on the shot and when the guard appeared to settle still he released the shot.
The arrow spend down from the direct height and took the deadra between the neckguard of his heavy armour, it collapsed and fell to its knee's, the shot preventing it from ultering a sound .Mer quick , Arfanel had dropped the untied end of the rope and quickly crossed the ground, reaching the daedra and struck it a blow to the head, with his special blacktribes dagger "Fang of Haynekhmet" ,which knocked it dieing to the floor . He stopped to grab his favourite arrow from the body and pushed it back in the quiver , with no time to clean it and raced to the gate.........

Outside , Lord Rilis the Just ,High Kinlord of Firsthold , watched the walls and gate for any sign that the spy was alive. They were not sure wether the spy had managed to get inside, and his mind was still calculating the possibly of storming the walls. The chances of doing so without major casualties was a factor he considered, which was why they where trying the path of stealth first. The sun just started to rise above the horizon briefly lighting the land with a little hint of red , which perhaps was a bad omen, when the gate slowly creeked open .

Rilis smiled at the sight, and with his giant six foot frame, fully stood up and signalled the van to enter the city. Four hundred lightly armoured mer troops left there places of hidding and ran to the gate, quickly entering the city .On this force entering ,cries of alarm from the daedra.silenced the quiet of the dawn.

A lone mer running his heart out, passed Lord Rillis with a wry smile but Arfanel didn't stop but kept on running , as his deeds for the day were done and the now it was down to the bloody business of the infantry. Both sides quickly formed up there forces and the fight began to take shape in the main market square of the city.Daedra seemingly coming out of nowhere to form up into there lines of jet black armour which seemed to absorb, what little light from the sun there was. The main van of the mer was joined by ever more forces .The halberdiers took the front and began a slow plod towards the square and the enemy lines , whilst the archers formed up behind them in the rear. More and more mer now flooded into the city. Soon the mer entered the range of the daedra and the halberdiers braced themselves, as the mer archers began to loose there volleys upon there foe.

The daedra shook off the volleys of arrows, like they were just mer flea bites . Once such daedra , a giant hulking thing which stood twice as big as the others , was covered with multiple arrows shafts jutting out of its armour , but it paid the damage little attention apart from the arrows shafts impending the movement of its arm. With one swip of its giant axe, it smashed away the shafts and bellowed at his fellow otherwordly beings. The majority of daedra howled in return and the mer shivered slightly in the cold light of day but not from the temperature.

Now the deadra moved with all there forces assembled and they charged forward , keeping to a rough formation as daedra meet mer in mortal combat. Lines began to be jumbled as mer and daedra struggled mightily in the early light of day. Slowly the deadra began to drive the mer back towards the gate , where the ever increasing number of mer began to pool and block any more movement to the rear. Another bellow rangout across the field of battle and the giant daedra drove into the lines, swinging his axe and driving a few mer into the air with the weight of the blow[not all of them in one piece :d]. Slowly, ever so slowly, the mer were pushed back towards the gatehouse .But as the mer's where becoming disillusioned at the situation, there was a whisper on the morning breeze as some of light merish voices talked of reinforcements.

Highkinlord Rilis looked back toward the beach, where a large additional force of aldmeri marines were moving towards the town at pace, with the banners of both the Queen and Shimmerene at their helm. Realising that the queen herself had arrived to help in the battle, the high kinlord knew that this was the time to rally the troops.

"The Queen is here! and Shimmermere has come!, Onwards, Onwards!, Do not let us be ashamed in the eyes of the queen!" , he cried and leapt forward with his bodyguard in the mass of troops which contested the battle near the gatehouse , as the daedra, with there bloodyfury had pushed them back to.
Darting past a few troops , the mer lord drew his twin blades, and sortout the main push in the enemies lines . It didnt take long to see the advance was being lead by a giant daedra wielding a large axe which cleaved a bloody path into the mer lines, and this was the obvious main threat to takeout. Moving forward , he soon found himself in its way, and knowing that he had little chance of blocking its blows, he threw himself into a risky dive low under its legs after it took another swing . After sliding a little way, he found himself under its belly and completing a twin thurst from below he first stabbed upwards into a weakness in its armour and then he brought both blades back and hamstringed both legs with a second sequence of cuts.

The giant daedra moved its head to the side , not understanding why all of its strength seemed to been disappearing. Looking downward it saw the answer , growled in acceptance of its next target but before it could do anything else , what passed for eyes rolled away and the behemoth fell forwards, crushing a few of its daedra cousins.
The highkinlord sighed to himself , as he was now trapped beneath its body, which effectively pinned him down , and his thoughts started to fade, as his consciousness emb'd away and his eyes closed.

Later that day, as the final daedra forces had been cutdown , Queen Ayreen found herself talking to Eldmail , who was the high kinlord of Shimmerene . The high kinlord was a small wiry figure and had a elegant form of light mer scaled armour which he wore well. Looking at the daedra and mer dead in the city, and observing the smoking rubble of some of the state dominion buildings which still were mostly intact , she felt both sadness and satisfaction.

"Well, we have won the day here, but the main threat at Firsthold is still to be solved", she paused, seeing a aldmeri marine limp past her heading towards the tents on the beach, where the various healings were taking place.

"Yes indeed , your majesty" remarked Eldmail, "I think we were lucky this day though....., these daedra are not to be taken likely."
"Did Rilis survive?" , she enquired , "I heard the tales of him in the fight?"
"Indeed he did", smirked Eldmail , "Although not without some more warwounds. I am sure we will have to endure more of his battle winning story, as we sail onwards back to his city to relieve it"

Once more Ayreen glanced at the destruction which had been made , by the deadra. The population of Dawnbreak had been ravaged as most had been taken though the portal back to coldharbour , but by some miracles , some had survived . Hiding in cellars or hidden chambers within the city. Most of the survivors had a haunted look about them which spoke volumes about the suffering under the daedra rule and this emboldened Ayreen that her people could not fall under the same fate at Firsthold....
"Let us ...have it done with this "veiled queen" ", she muttered under her breath...

Gathrun gro-Ruumsh could not believe his good fortune at this new opportunity . The recent capture of Velyn harbour, had given him access to the wine vineyards and the warehouses nearby which held there last few years worth of stock. With a few other hired orcs from the army, he had collected a full wagon load and set about moving back to the harbour to sell this new bounty and make a tidy profit. Unfortunately near a stone bridge on route to the city , a large overhanging stone containing a carved feature of the mer fell upon the wagon , cutting short his venture. Some say that this was the orcish gods punishing him for not choosing war as a career, but others say they saw a slight framed mer moving slowly away from the overhanging bridge and wonder weither he held any responsibility for the misfortune....

    II. Covenant

    Crown of Rivenspire

A Civil War erupts in Rivenspire!

When Ranser was defeated, High King Emeric of Wayrest allowed a triumvirate of the three most prominent houses (Tamrith, Dorell, Montclair) to rule over Rivenspire until he found a suitable replacement to become the new King of Shornhelm. Shornhelm has remained kingless for years as a result of this. Baron Wylon of House Montclair asserted his claim to the throne, being the grandson and sole remaining heir of Ranser's predecessor King Hurlbut, but many seems hesitant to trust the Montclairs. After the tragic death of his wife, Wylon Motclair seeks to take over the whole region by force by getting rid of House Dorell and House Tamrith. House Montclair chose the path of necromancy, and the members of house itself became vampires.

"The Breton people of the Markwasten Moor and Shornhelm heights have a long and storied history, with much to be proud of: the Trammeling of the Giants in the time of legends; the Purge of the Wyrd-Hags in the Year of Sun's-Death (which restored Magnus to the skies of the Mundus); and the Charge of the Montclair Knights (often erroneously referred to as the Charge of the Shornhelm Knights) at the Battle of Glenumbria Moors. Through all this tumultuous history, the people of Rivenspire are fortunate to have been ably led, through times of terror and triumph, by the noble lords of the House of Montclair. It is true that the Barons of House Montclair have not always been selected by fate to also reign as King of Shornhelm. But the Montclairs count humility among their many virtues, and have often been willing to defer to pretenders with weaker claims to royalty in the interest of peace. That this humility has sometimes been tragically over-indulged was sadly proven in the case of my father—Phylgeon, 38th Baron Montclair. As all students of Breton history know, the greatest post-Reman monarch of Shornhelm was King Hurlburt, who led our army at the Battle of Granden Tor and ruled the North from 2E 522 until his death in 546. Hurlburt was of House Branquette, 21st Count of the Name, and had taken as his queen Countess Iphilia of Montclair. When King Hurlburt died his legitimate son, Prince Phylgeon, was only fourteen years of age, and though his inheritance was championed by House Montclair, Houses Branquette and Tamrith supported his elder half-brother, Prince Ranser, who had been born out of wedlock to a poor Tamrith cousin. (House Dorell, typically aloof, declined to endorse either candidate.).
What is less well known is the behind-the-scenes maneuvering that led to Ranser being crowned King of Shornhelm rather than Phylgeon. The advisors of the young Baron Montclair (his mother had predeceased King Hurlburt by a mere two years) contended that he, as the legitimate son, was the proper heir to the throne—a claim further buttressed by language in a codicil to the famous "Bretonnick Natalitie" that declared "Howse Mount Clayre" the royal house of Shornhelm. The Council of the North met to consider the various claimants, but during their deliberations the Montclair advisors found that the Bretonnick codicil had gone missing, while Prince Ranser brought forth a suspiciously long-lost Direnni decree that named House Branquette their "Breton Royal Delegates" in Rivenspire.
The vote of the Council was a narrow victory for Prince Ranser, thereafter King Ranser of Shornhelm. Some of Prince Phylgeon's advisors urged him to fight for the crown, but the young prince declined, preferring to become simply the Baron of Montclair.
Oh, fateful humility! We all know where Phylgeon's deference led—to the tragic events of 566 and the insurrection against the First Daggerfall Covenant in what is known (to our shame) as Ranser's War. According to the standard histories, all the noble houses—Montclair, Tamrith, even Dorell—answered King Ranser's call to muster and marched behind his banner in his fatal war against High King Emeric and the South. What is not generally known is that Count Phylgeon of Montclair was uncertain of the rightness of Ranser's cause, and offered to both Kings Ranser and Emeric to serve as a peace envoy between the two sides. High King Emeric's reply has been lost to history, but Ranser's angry refusal is well known. Once again my father deferred to his elder half-brother, and the Montclair Knights joined Ranser's doomed army.
In the immediate aftermath of King Ranser's fall, Rivenspire fell into chaos. The Crown of Shornhelm went missing during the Battle of Traitor's Tor, and the fateful "Direnni decree" that elevated Ranser to the throne has likewise not been seen since. The death of Ranser was the end of the line of House Branquette, and since then there has been no King of Shornhelm, Rivenspire having been jointly ruled by the triumvirate Council of the North. That body has tried, with the best of intentions, to keep peace and order in the northern counties, but nobody, if they were speaking honestly, would say the Council's efforts have sufficed. Shornhelm—and the North—need a King.
And why shouldn't they have one? If I may speak frankly, setting aside, however regretfully, the traditional Montclair mantle of humility, then I must confess that I, Baron Wylon of Montclair, am certainly the legitimate heir to the throne of Shornhelm. My grandfather was King Hurlburt, and I descend from him in the direct and legitimate line of succession, a claim no one else in the North can make. (That also makes me the sole living heir to the domain of the Branquettes, much of which was unfairly parceled out to the Tamriths and Dorells, but no—humility, always humility!)
Furthermore, at this critical juncture I am fortunate to be able to announce that the long-missing Bretonnick Codicil has been found by the Montclair house historian, the operative clause of which I shall quote here: "... seeing all in order then in Sharn Helm and its Lands Contyguous, the most royale and high … (unintelligible) … appointeth in Perpetuitie sayde Howse Mount Clayre in rulership over ... (unintelligible) … and Sharn Helm. So mote it bee." People of Rivenspire, Baron Wylon of Montclair is prepared to do his duty."

    - From Shornhelm, Crown City of The North, a montclair propaganda, by Lord Wylon, 39th Baron Montclair.

    Effects

The Covenant mustnt let House Montclair control all of Rivenspire in the same time (not counting Ravenwatch Castle) throughout the entire conflict. For accomplishing that, the covenant shall receive a point.

Kill at least one member of House Montclair in 3 turns (since the fall of Northpoint). At least one member of each house, Dorell and Tamrith, must survive the conflict and not become vampires. However, they must be in Rivenspire and take part in the war personally (if some of the members of these houses are not nearby, I can move them on admin turn, but they mustnt be inside settlements or have any units). For accomplishing that, the covenant shall receive a point.

Destroy House Monctlair faction in 6 turns (since the fall of Northpoint). At least one member of house montclair must be killed by Count Verandis Ravenwatch.
At least one member of each house, Dorell and Tamrith, must survive the conflict and not become vampires. However, they must be in Rivenspire and they must take part in the war personally. For accomplishing that, the covenant shall receive a point.

(King Wylon Montclair offers Janeve Tamrith, the defender of Northpoint, her life in exchange for the city. She however has to disband all units, and leave the city empty in order to save its population. Otherwise the siege shall begin, and many innocent people die....)
