By 'all those traits', I meant other different traits, any traits in my mod or vanilla. Night fighter, confident, good governor, valorous, whatever. Not the traits discussed here since they aren't in my EDCT.

Anyway, I created a adopted trait, available only on OfferedForAdoption, then waited for one of my faction_emerge script. I was right, a character created by faction_emerge is also somehow taken as a regular adopted character since the new guy got the trait.
However it doesn't work on a traditional spawn_army named character. But those can be given traits within the script so it's no bother.

I'd say it is how the game considers any newly created general (appart from mariage and coming of age) ... That is why I found weird that the spawn_army named character is not concerned ...???!!!

faction_emerge also work for alive factions, and if there are open spots in their family tree the new characters automaticaly become FM. I just think CA devs from the days of med2 thought things more throwfully (is that how they spell this word?) that we might give them credit for sometimes.

spawn_army has the option to give traits within the script, unlike recruited and emerged characters, and it might be a calculated move to have extended the OfferedForAdoption event to the last two.

Interesting find. What "new characters" exactly are you referring to? Any that were spawned in the same monitor as (but before) the faction_emerge? Only those? No spawned characters from earlier firing monitors?

No, I always tend to forget, I must be the only guy that don't spawn any character before the faction emerge:

    Code:
    if I_EventCounter loyalist_avaricum_revolt > 0
    and not I_SettlementUnderSiege Avaricum

        console_command create_building Avaricum ros_target

    if I_SettlementOwner Avaricum = england
        faction_emerge france england 1 500.0 0.0 1.2 town false
        end_if

    if I_SettlementOwner Avaricum = aztecs
        faction_emerge france aztecs 1 500.0 0.0 1.2 town false
        end_if

    if I_SettlementOwner Avaricum = hre
        faction_emerge france hre 1 500.0 0.0 1.2 town false
        end_if

    if I_SettlementOwner Avaricum = spain
        faction_emerge france spain 1 500.0 0.0 1.2 town false
        end_if
    ;;;ect, ect
Before that piece, the full po buildings are created and a few more counters checked but I have no spawn_army, zero, zip, no need.
Faction_emerge itself spawn a new named character with a army inside the transfered settlement. Remember that I am using the 'false shadowing', shadowing slave method for this:

All in all I realise my tuto isn't the best written ever to say the least, especially as it was half in research status at the time. But since then I used it extensively and can garantee it work in all reliable way. I will add a simpler 'how to do' at the beginning and leave the 'research' part after that for those interested. Before I do that though, I had a vision the other night. But whatever, I think I know how to simplify things even more when it come to the full chain of po bonus, I am currently in doing/testing phase and will say more in my tutorial. I will also add a simple 'how to do' of my conclusions here:
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...1#post15478199

Which beat the odds at all time, I don't even need to add some script for a eventual failure of the chosen target anymore.
edit, the partial script above is only a little piece of a very large monitor with several type of if blocks, so yes it's normal that the ros_target creation don't end with a end_if, it is finished later, in case anyone would wonder.
