I subbed Wayrest once a few turns ago. There were a couple Sharnhelm armies sitting out in the open that I could have tried to defeat, but I took the more conservative course of forting off and sieging Firebrand Keep instead. That small level of aggression was proper for the admins to do because Firebrand Keep is literally right on Wayrest's doorstep, and leaving an enemy full stack there was dangerous.

So neither one of us is playing to win the game as Wayrest. We made a small offensive move and are now playing defensively.

We ask that the people of Hegathe surrender, before any brotherly blood is spilt.

Lord Hegathe stands on the battlements, calmly reading the request for surrender as he scans the enemy lines. His men are outnumbered over 2 to 1, some of his units still depleted from the failed ambush the previous month. Worse, his scouts report an even larger contingent of soldiers just beyond the hills. "So, they've decided to do it properly this time."

He turns away from the field, disappearing from view as he descends the steps back to his garrison. Some 450 battle-hardened spearmen, his son and 30 noble horses, and his family's personal guard. Hardly a garrison, and more of a crack force. Perhaps that's what's made them so anxious to go to war. If only we could find weak men to man these walls, the upkeep reduction alone...

His thoughts continued to trail off towards money, as they tended to. After the ambush, his men had demanded blood. Instead, Lord Hegathe ransomed his captives and carted the dead off to Sentinel on King Kameron's orders. The King had foreseen the ambush, as he had foreseen this siege. "Men!"

His soldiers stood at attention, the rustling of metal and an instinctive roar filled the square and drifted to the Forebear camp just outside the gates. "Lay down your spears."

The clanks and thuds of wood and metal on stone were nearly in unison. "Raise the banners."

White flags were hoisted and the marching drum began. The Hegathe garrison marched out in order, matching the length of the Forebear line at half its depth. The march continued, the Forebear lines spitting insults and demanding a fight, but the Crowned army continued its slow, disciplined march. When the lines were but 50 yards apart, a general halt was ordered. Lord Hegathe rode out with his contingent to exchange words with the Forebear generals until a trumpet was sounded from beyond the dunes of the nearby coastline. Lord Hegathe reared his horse back towards his lines and roared to his men, "Forward!"

The Crowned lines rushed forward, and then the order for daggers was given. Each man retrieved a dagger from his boot and threw it at the enemy line before drawing a hidden short sword from his belt. As the lines engaged in a general melee, 600 cavalry under the command of General Nal swept past the dunes and crashed in to the back lines of the Forebear army who immediately routed and fled for their boats. General Nal had already dispatched her fleet to lift the blockade on Hegathe, and by sundown the Crowned soldiers had begun their celebration feast.

Meanwhile, King Kameron dispatches letters of notice to all settlements under Forebear command; surrender now or receive no mercy. Additionally, against the advice of all his council and generals, The King has raced ahead of his army to begin the siege of Tu'whacca's Throne immediately.

I will not be able to play June 22- July 8-12. So, ask Jadli to move figures on the map for me.

I'm all for waiting. If the new Wayrest can't play in the next couple of days it just means Sharnhelm misses out on less of the game.

This is another treacherous example why the Crowns are not to be trusted. They lie, decieve and manipulate. They act as if they surrender but instead slaughter our men. How can anyone trust them? These traitorous imposter say one thing and do another! They fly false flags. They are the epitome of demonic despicable dominions. Who acts under this pathetic pretense? Anyone who consorts with these perfidious dogs risks consorting with a liar and risks finding a knife thrust in to their back. The forebears reject the ultimatum. Bring your worst.
Tonight, we fight for the glory of Hammerfell! For the honour of the victims of this foolish farce! For all Redguards! We shall destroy the Crowns once and for all!

    King Fahara'jad
    Leader of the Forebears
    True King of Hammerfell

Tu'whacca's Throne taken with overwhelming odds. King Kameron has refrained from acknowledging the 7 men that died taking the town. Many in his court suspect he is angry after being denied a victory with no casualties. After the last of the garrison was defeated, his grace ordered the two captured Forebear lords beheaded. A unit of nomads that attempted to loot some villagers was almost completely decimated, with nine men killed for every one spared with fifty lashes.

The King has issued a decree and dispatched messengers to all settlements within Hammerfell; any non-belligerent Redguard citizen in the claimed domain of the Crown, or any foreign race whose father called Hammerfell home, is awarded the comfort of the King's protection.

In addition, King Kameron orders word to be spread among his armies; the looting of any settlement that rightfully belongs to the Crown (Forebear territory + Hallin's Stand) is forbidden. Veterans of the Hammerfell campaign will enjoy luxuries, favor, and choice loot after the Kingdom of Wayrest has been picked clean.

A letter has been dispatched to the King of Sentinel and Sand. It reads as follows:

"To the False King and his Pretender's Court,

"Undoubtedly, honor and duty will compel you to continue this charade. However, the fear in the hearts of the citizens of Tu'whacca's Throne is palpable. Your offenses and shortcomings aside, we must share in common at the very least the desire to see the Redguard people spared the horrors of a grim war. Ever since the village fell, smallfolk have come to my court to plead their concerns. They have had a taste of siege warfare, and even the dullest peasant can look at a map and see where two enemies meet.

"Whatever might be said about the Clan of Forebears, none dispute your economic might. And yet, the records of your now deceased Lords show that the people are being levied for extra taxes, while the construction ledger may as well be empty. How many thousands of dragons go unspent, filling your coffers more and more with each passing season while our people toil away in the desert sands? The sacred temple is a ruin; you offend even the Pantheon. The restoration of the temple will begin as soon as supplies arrive in the town, as well as the installation of a nearby church. The tavern will be converted in to a brothel to stimulate the economy as pilgrims come from all corners of Hammerfell to see Tu'whacca's Throne in its full glory, and not this decrepit ruin it has become under your care.

"I leave you with a choice. Leave Tu'whacca's Throne be and watch your brothers and sisters lay the foundations for a proud Redguard settlement, or condemn them to the hardships of stagnation and war.

"Signed King Kameron, Lord of Taneth, First Admiral of the Royal Redguard Navy, High King of Hammerfell and protector of Hallin's Stand."
