    Default Update Confusion

Having installed v1.3 then 1.5 then Waterloo install and finally the Austrian patch, the modded game displays the correct version numbers, however only Borodino appears in the historical battles. There is an entry for Waterloo but only in the Custom battles section.

I have spent a long time trying various solutions and reading everything I could find online, to no avail. Should I see other hostorical battles listed? Anyone know what may be the problem, assuming that there is one!

One of the problems is the serious lack of documentation for all this, compounded by the presence online of many out of date (and consequently contradictory and confusing) web pages relating to installation etc. The patchy nature of the online information makes life very difficult for those entering this (very interesting and potentially impressive) area of development at the current point of progress, rather than having been 'on-board' since the start.

Thank you in advance for any assistance rendered...

    Cheers

    Tony

There is nothing wrong with your install: the Waterloo battle wasn't finished. Unfortunatly, the Lordz have given up on modding R:TW, so I doubt we will ever see any other historical battles for N:TW II.

Thanks for the relpy. So Borodino is IT? I thought I had read posts of people playing a Waterloo scenario and then there's this Austrian patch following. So, I guess it's just a bit of colour added to the game with all the new units. Quel domage! : -(

Er, would your answer also explain why it appears impossible to change unit formations or have I not looked at the game enough?

    Roll on 'Les Grognards'...

The Lordz did intend to release more historical battles, but creating them is a time-consuming process, and they decided there were more pressing problems. The R:TW engine is not really suited to Napoleonic warfare.

I am not entirely sure what your problem is. Are you talking about modding the formation files, or is there a problem on the battlefield? If so, what isn't working?

One of the problems is the serious lack of documentation for all this
    Install Instructions

-Make sure you have Rome TW v1.5 installed. Patch 1.5 (or 1.6 for BI) can be found on www.totalwar.com

-Download The Patch_Austria_v0.2.7 for NTW2 Full Install v0.2.6 from our website.

-Unzip the files to a folder

-After opening you will find the installer inside this folder.

-To start the installation, just double click it. The install program will instruct you further and install NTW2 on your computer.

Tip: Make sure that you direct the install program to the right root directory, in other words where you already installed NTW2
