Me neither and not because of the show. I stopped liking it like 3 seasons before everyone else suddenly realized it wasn’t good anymore. It’s more that I’m upset that fat isn’t going to actually finish the story.

I kind of understand him. He wrote those books out of passion and at his own pace and having everybody rail at you to work more, work harder, work faster can kill any desire to do the thing.

The TV show killed Martin's love for his own series.

The last book came out in 2011, right after the first season. They basically did the entire show in the time it took him to write Winds of Winter.

I was literally thinking about that last night. The Winds of Winter took him ages to write and there is still one more book after that one.
Also strange that all the books start with "A" as in "A Song of Ice and Fire", except for "The Winds of Winter". Couldn't he just call it "A Wind of Winter"? Or am I being too pedantic?

Upon reflecting, I am never in the wrong. The fact that George RR Martin couldn't change the "The" to an "A" has frankly ruined the entire GOTs series for me.
