It makes me sad I don't recognize anyone on here anymore. The TD was a big part of my early teens years

The old TD occupied 20% of my time each day.
Probly good its gone then lol
Surprisingly, I still got all my work done. That was during my MA program.
I tend to work best under stress, so I spend most of my time procrastinating and then I rush to finish everything a bit too close to the deadline for my comfort zone. I once had a paper I had 4 weeks on writing, with a deadline some Monday at 23:59. I delivered it that Monday. At 23:59. T'was a very close one.

It's a natural human trait to only have motivation when under pressure. If you know this, then you can take advantage of your own human nature. Simply make yourself think that if you don't start working on the paper well in advance, then you will fail and be a nobody. Make yourself feel the pressure in the present. Stress yourself out. At least that works for me. I never work on anything last minute, except conference presentations.
And if you do fail you'd have a very good excuse.
If you start working on day 1 and still fail in the end, there'd be totally hopeless!
I’m doing alright. Just going to work and coming home. By the looks of it I am happier than I was when I left TWC, not that those two things are related :p
I stopped by to grab some info from my PMs, saw your message on my profile, and thought maybe I ought to make an effort to come around here more often. I hadn’t left for any particular reason, it just sort of happened that way. I’m glad to see so many familiar faces; though it seems activity in general has sort of declined? Or perhaps only in the non-gaming fora...
Of these facts there cannot be any shadow of doubt: for instance, that civil society was renovated in every part by Christian institutions; that in the strength of that renewal the human race was lifted up to better things-nay, that it was brought back from death to life, and to so excellent a life that nothing more perfect had been known before, or will come to be known in the ages that have yet to be. - Pope Leo XIII
Activity in the TW-part isn't all that great either, I'd say that's actually more worrying because that's the part that should attract new members.
I blame Steam Workshop. That integration I think has hurt the site.
Maybe the site will be rejuvenated with China Total War, but I doubt it
Will they have a new or scriptable recruitment system? I always want something like Mount&Blade's - you can't just pay to get elites, they need to be upgraded from veterans who need to survive real combats to gain experiences, and nobles/knights should come from a different and tiny source.
Also, how about we get some holiday cheer going on in here? Adding Christmas hats to profile pictures, for example? There's no snow outside unfortunately, but we can make it feel so in here!
