Thread: Total War Shader for Substance (v1.6)

Based on the log, the Total War Shader itself does not seem to be the problem. There should occur an error message related to the shader at the latest when it is reloaded after switching to a default one.

In this situation I recommend you to set up a clean Substance Painter project based on a Total War Shader template of your choice where you import your model again (having a look at your screenshot I assume that not much things happen in your current project so having a clean start should be a good way to go). If the import is successful try to set up a fill layer which utilizes the standard Total War texture channels (diffuse, normal, gloss, level, specular). Just set the diffuse, gloss, level and specular channel to a mid-gray value and make sure that the normal channel is set to the default normal map value (R=0.500, G=0.500, B=1.000). The Total War Shader should show you your model in in a glossy gray.

If the model still remains completely black and if there still occurs no error message in the log when loading the shader, it is highly likely that there are some issues with the model (maybe related to corrupted UVs). Even a wrong/corrupted graphics driver can cause the problem if it does not support the OpenGL functionality used in the Total War Shader. However, I think that such an issue would be written to the log as well.

All in all it does not look like that the Total War Shader causes the problem. So trying out different things seems to be the only way to find a solution. Do the default shaders in Substance Painter work for you?
