    Greetings,

    Hoping someone here might be able to help me out. I have a recurring crash during the AI turn at turn 103 and according to the system log appears to have something to do with the campaign script.

    Just to point out, I have autosave turned off, am playing in borderless windowed mode, and have med 2 in its own folder on the desktop and not in the program files. I have also not edited the mod's files in any way.

    Here is the part of the system log where the crash keeps occurring. It always crashes on either Epeiros or Koinon Hellenon turn:

    Yeah I know that feeling right now lol.

    I have some experience with creating my own total war mods and with the scripting used in Rome and Medieval 2 (and EB I for that matter) so I'm trying to figure out what exactly is going on by examining the script around line 14901 where the last action always occurs before the game crashes.

    It appears to have something to do with the Koinon Hellenon reforms. Considering the game always crashes on either Epeiros or Koinon Hellenon turn, visually, it might simply be that the game is actually always crashing on the Koinon Hellenon turn and the visual just doesn't update.

    I've tried deleting the piece of script that switches the monitor on line 14901 but that just crashes the game on startup. I tried changing the counter to switch from 0 to 1 whenever the conditional is satisfied but that doesn't change the game crash at all, it still always occurs at the same spot.

    I don't know if this matters at all, but settlement 098 that is referenced in line 14901 is "Ephesos". In the campaign save, Seleukia controls Ephesos, not the Koinon Hellenon. So maybe the counter is triggering oddly?

    Thanks for taking a look at this Quintus I really appreciate it, dying to test out all the new stuff in EB II and give some feedback.

    That KH reform script is a mess, it's really inefficiently coded and has a lot of non-terminating monitors. It needs a cleanup.

    Worked on this a little more after I got home today:

    I tried using the surrender_regions console command to see if that would have any effect.

    I used it once on Koinon Hellenon, while keeping epeiros alive (crash on epeiros turn)

    Once on epeiros, while keeping koinon hellenon alive (crash on koinon hellenon turn)

    Then used the command once on both factions (crash on Carthage turn, who normally takes a turn right before epeiros)

    I checked the error log and the crash is at the exact same spot in the script every time.

    So whatever the bug is here, it doesn't have to do with what specific AI factions are doing. It seems to me to be something "built-in" with some process that happens while the AI factions are taking their turns.

    I really have no clue beyond this whats going on, i've played a few hundred turns campaigns in probably a half dozen different versions of EBII and have never seen an error like this.

    Well, I just tried deleting the entire block of the Koinon Hellenon reforms.

    Game boots up fine. Still get the exact same crash on during AI turns in the campaign.

    So, it doesn't appear to be something directly related to that?

    The error log still has the exact same text as well as the reference to line 14901.

    This is despite the fact that now, line 14901 is completely different because of the removal of Koinon Hellenon removal script (it is now a blank line right before the name change script to Lugodunon).

    I'm not sure changes to the campaign script are actually registered midcampaign.

    People have always said that to be the case since RTW, I am not sure whether that is truly the case though, as I never tested that.

    No, the script is compiled at the start of the campaign, changes afterwards have no effect on a game in motion.

    Not a great deal of help, necessarily, but you need to switch the caching off. It doesn't do anything helpful, and can make the game unstable.

    Under [io] you should have:

    Code: [View]
    disable_file_cache = 1
    You might also want to switch your error logging from trace to error, it'll stop the logs bloating.
