Certainly, IF, the LOD ranges are lower. The sentence describing the mod doesn't specify the LOD ranges except that they're "new" -- which to my reading new = better. Also, I don't know how lower LOD ranges render more units. Units should always be rendered no? Distant ones are just simple sprites. If the LOD is less, is he saying there will be less sprites, but then you just have this crappier looking units overall?

I assume you're right on, but then the mod should be described more like: "New lower/nerfed LOD ranges should now help to render more units during huge battles."

I have a problem.

When I play the campaign map I have a 80% of GPU usage and 70 fps on very high/ultra and also I have these FPS before I click "start battle".

When I click start battle the fps fall to 15-20 and the GPU usage is 30% at most. The CPU usage remains.
I have an i7 3770, GTX 970 and 8 GB of RAM. I play with energy power plan.

These glitches as for now only show after a bit of time of playing, around something like 45-60 min. Graphics are set to low.
Since I play on a laptop with two graphic cards (AMD Radeon HD 8400 / R3 Series + 8600M Series), which is not optimal for a game so hardware intensive as Rome 2, at first I thought that they could be symptoms of overheating, with game files somehow failing to be properly loaded and rendered. However, considering also that Rome 2 is buggy and that AMD drivers gave me problems in the past for other reasons, these glitches could also be issues of driver compatibility and optimization.

Or it could be the Divide et Impera mod that needs to be updated, and perhaps this is probably the best bet, although I didn't find (yet) any reference about this mod giving such problems.

But I don't really know. Do you have any hint?

have no idea and honestly they are incredibly weird (and fascinating too), the way a png go under a localization is kind of magic.
No DeI has not this type of issues at all, DeI runs fine.
I have a radeon rx 460 (a crap) and never had any problem besides some normal overheating with consequent shutdown.

It may be a mod loading issue

Hi guys I’ve got an important question I’m building a pc and I wanted to know what cpu to go for it’s either the Ryzen 3600x or the i5 9600k, I’ve heard Ryzen is better now but I’ve also heard that intel is more optimised for total war Rome 2. I’ll be using this pc only for gaming so what would you guys recommend to play dei on ultra graphics and units? Your help is much appreciated

I would pass on current generation of CPU's. Next Ryzen cpu's coming summer 2020 will be much better, they still polish 7nm processors. For purely gaming reasons I would go for I5 9600, OC to 5000hz it will show much better 1% lows.

Since when I play rtw2 I almost exclusively play DEI, I thought it was RTW2s lack of optimization or something that makes the campaign map a bit slugish and stuttery, like when I move my armies there is a weird stutter or when I do anything in the politics screen, like for instance an promotion feels so unpleasant.

However when I played some other mods none of this was a problem, the campaign map feels silky smooth. And I do not understand this, what does DEI do on the campaign map that is so different?

Hello. I can’t get the mod to work. I first downloaded it via Steam (by subscribing); it didn’t work (crashed at the start, never allowed the game to open), then I reverified the game files, then I unsubscribed and subscribed again, didn’t work, then I reverified the files, nothing changed.

Then I downloaded the files manually and placed them in required folders (according to the information given by you); same thing happened again. And reverification of the files didn’t solve the problem.

Can’t seem to find a solution. Could you please help?

Wow, I didn't have an idea what you're talking about; I thought "okay, maybe there's an older version than mine that I didn't see before", I then proceeded to looking for ways to "reverting to the old Steam launcher", found a few articles, at the same time Steam was starting...

Now I know what you're talking about.

So the answer to your question is no, because -I think- I had the old version already, so the mod didn't work with the "old" Steam version. I did try with the new Steam, still no luck.

PS: My mod launcher doesn't have the "enable out of date mods" option, maybe that's the problem?

Yes, that one. It's actually four red buttons.

Go to the game properties on steam, then 'betas' and select 'launcher_release_candidate' to opt into.

I did what you suggested, downloaded 4.3 gb of files, got the old version of mod launcher, checked the "enable out of date mods" option... Didn't work. This time I get the "Rome2.exe stopped working" error though.

v6 Core i7-3770, 16Gb, ATI Radeon RX480 8Gb - I m asking because the game seems to lag on very high gtaphic settings. Is it normal given my specs? Thank you

Yes, I'm afraid that these specs are a bit low for DeI. You can still play the game, but you need to definitely lower your graphics and try to avoid larger battles with multiple stacks.
