So setting upo the priority reg for Rome is really i highly reccomend it, im getting alot more fps now.

    6) eventually use this graphical mod compilation, it will lower a lot of basic things and game is still 100% playable

I had a question about this mod, what exactly does it do for the game or the mod?

I don't know if this has been stated before (if so, sorry for repost). But turning off the banners to either "mouse-over" or "off" in the battle interface menu actually improves fps by a noticeable amount. Been playing for years and I just found that out!

The game works fine if I set unit detail to low. Before the update of graphics, the Nvidia Geforce Experience told me to use Ultra textures but now it tells me to use High. Indeed if I play the game with Ultra textures it warns me to downgrade graphics. I have to say that I use Nvidia Geforce Experience settings and then I change unit detail to Low and the game works amazing with 10k soldiers with 30 fps locked.
Which card is needed to play with Ultra textures? I have a GTX 970 and Rome 2 does not use more VRAM than my card has.

I play with GTX 970 on all maxed outside of water (since it is rendered in land battles) and grass set to low (as I have much better grass from Orbis Terrarum). I also run Reshade on top of this to make game look even better. I have around 45-55 FPS with game looking like this:

Your CPU is much more imporant here if you want to have a lot of troops and good FPS.

Do you refer to this mod? https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfil...?id=1970932617 Might give a try.

I have an i5 9600KF which is more recent than my GTX 970, the unit detail struggles my FPS on Rome II, Attila and Thrones of Britannia on the other hand it holds ultra unit sizes. I think that I even tried a battle of 10K soldiers with everything low except ultra detail. Amazing pics, I still use GEM.

Hello! I have RTX 2070 Super 8 Gb. I followed the instructions on the first page and made the game recognize 4 Gb graphics memory. Is it even possible to make it recognize all 8?

Why does DEI feel so sluggish on the campaign map compared to other mods? For example when I click on an army or open the politics there is just this stutter or slug, which I don't have with other mods or vanilla.

I have experimented with Graphical options but I cannot find anything that changes this.

I have this is other TW games too. This is due to campaign map not having a FPS limit, even if you use VSync. It means that campaign map constantly jumps between stuff like 40 to 120 FPS in a second. It caused my PC to heavily heat up when on campaign in Warhammer, where battles were ok. I had to force FPS limit by my nvidia experience.

Does anyone else use up to a 1min to load the benchmark when DEI is used? I don't know if it's just my system, but I know vanilla takes 5-10 sec to load. Additionally, my CPU ramps up when loading and the whole thing freezes, can't tab out and no movement on the loading bar.

Any idea why R2 would run so much worse on Win10? Not sure if this is generally the case. I dual boot 7 and 10, figured I'd try running on 7 just to see if my memory was playing tricks on me and it runs so much smoother on 7. I still can't max it out and have smooth battles. Running mostly very high w/ orbis terrarum.

I went up to an I7 4790k. I can have most things to very high/ultra now but still have a ton of frame skipping on Windows 10. It's only smooth on Windows 7. I have unit detail on ultra and running Orbis Terrarum with 50-60 fps in a 20v20 field and town battle. Haven't gotten to do a walled siege yet. What are you using?

Edit: Also anyone using Windows 10 having fps issues, try disabling fullscreen optimization on the r2.exe properties. Completely smoothed out the framerate for me and I can now run extreme everything with 45 fps, very high-ultra at 55-60. YAY

Hi, I have issues with Rome 2 DEI. I got stuttering/lag issues when I fight 40vs40, and i would like to know which rig would i need to upgrade to fix it.
    my specs:
    CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 3400G at 3.7Ghz.
GPU - NviDia - GTX 1050 ti 4GB Palit StormX
RAM - 16 GB around 10 GB usable (less internet browser, steam and stuff).
    SSD - I installed it on a SSD - Crucial BX500 480 GB.
Here is my Rome II - DEI Graphic Settings:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

And Here is a Sample/Preview of FPS Drop from a battle.
From 40-50 FPS it Dropped to less than 20 FPS.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

And this is my resource usage in task manager. ( I noticed my SSD frequently got high spike usage).
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Any help how to fix it, or any suggestions what rig will i need to upgrade? Anyone knew what's the reason why i got lower FPS and stuttering/lag in DEI?
And about the SSD high spikes, could it be the cause of a virus?

Try lowering grass detail to lowest and reduce terrain quality a bit. Also do you use any graphical submods?

Not really, but I use dust and smoke mod. Which looks cool when the armies march, but the arthur of the mod said the it doesnt have significant performance hit on any system as the dust and smoke particles are loose and not condensed enough to cause perf hit.

Well here is your answer, dust and smoke mods are the heaviest of performance impacing submods. They can easily cut your FPS by half or more.

Do they eat a lot of VRAM resource from my GPU?
i currently have 4GB Vram from my GTX 1050ti should i get 6GB VRAM or more?
or should i get faster clock GPU?

Game does not read above 4GB ram so it wont doo much. CPU is the most important for TW games. Probably w card with better clock would help too.
