    Default Invading Lustria

Playing as the dark elves, I have taken over Ulthuan. My eyes now lay upon the rich jungles of Lustria but there's a catch. It took me some time to finally beat the high elves so the lizardmen was able to kick the skaven out regaining control of the continent. They enjoyed several years of economic growth fielding 4-6 stacks around their lands.

After doing some spying, I finally located all of their cities. I immidiately sent 3 full stacks of dark elves and occupied half the island. It wasn't easy either since I had to cut down a crap ton of skinks. I destroyed their buildings and began making my stuff but two turns later... Dinosaurs!!! Stegadons just murdered everyone at the gates and kroxigors cleaned up the walls. Outnumbered and with no real answer to dinos, my invasion failed. I lost all three of the northern provinces. None made it back to Ulthuan.

Dreadspears don't do so well against stegadons. I need like two units just to beat one but the AI usually mixes them with saurus on warcry so I can't really hold the gates. Executioners and black guard work but they take a long time to replenish. I'll be overrun before I could build the proper barracks for retraining.

I actually have an idea that focuses on destabilizing the region. I could conquer a settlement then give it to chaos. Go occupy another one and give that to the orks. Introduce the area to new invaders backed by me of course. Once Lustria is all messed up, Malekith comes in and takes all the spoils for himself kinda like America . I'm not sure if that will work though.

Any of you conquered lustria late in the game before? Which faction and strategy did you use to do it?

Honestly it's a lategame invasion target for anyone who doesn't start with a presence there. The other thing to remember is that Stegadons, like all monsters, are quite susceptible to artillery and mages, so stock up. As the Dark Elves you don't have many options in that regard, so you should probably bring lots of Black Guards and hope for the best.
Easiest faction to invade the Lizardmen with would probably be either undead (currently morale is a major issue, especially for Skinks and Saurus) or the Empire (Lots of artillery options). DoW and Chaos are probably possible to use too.

I've used skaven to conquere lustria so croxigor and stegadons were not a problem because of gatling an jezzails. I've noticed that black guards tend to stun lock them pretty hard. Also sorceresses, bolt throwers and MASSIVE repeater crossbow fire seem to do the work on big monsters, stegadons too.
As for the strategy i used, i bombed the out of them with my massive cannons and drilled them with warpstone bullets. Kinda of worked!

And Skaven have the advantage of having an established foothold on the continent from the start.

Try landing on the vampire coast, its further away for you yes, but will take time for them to move on you and may do so a stack or two at a time.

I did it on my Dark Elves game with hit, run and scorched earth tactics. Get half a dozen spies over there to keep track of their armies and then land you troops near a city, conquer, exterminate the population and scrap all the buildings. Best done at as many settlements as possible at the same time. Retreat back into the ships if stegadon heavy stacks show up. Pick their armies off one by one this way. If there arent many stegadons in the army, they are extremly easy pray for shield walls and cavalry. They break extremly easy once charged from behind when lined up at your shield wall and are sitting ducks for dark riders who they tend to try to catch. You can also run down units with darkrider.

Just dont bother with their killing their generals, something was strange for me, they got alot of them back in no time.
