    Default merging mods for realism?

i'm very glad to see many mods are in development with the goal of more realism for the campaign game. names, provinces, traits, diplomacy and all. but they are all separate and probably we wont be able to use them all at once. so it would be great if all the realism campaign mods could be collected when they're done and merged together, maybe even creating an installer or something (couse if they ever come out sure as hell i'll never play again with the deault campaign

without using a mod managing tool most mods are incompatible with each other, theres also no chance of the whole modding comunity working together as different modders have different aims and expectations for their mods.

Another problem is that some modders - i will have to phrase this carefully - are only interested in gaining prestige and often do little work and have a few incomplete projects which they have got bored with and left / declared dead - i personaly prefer to work alone while asking for advice from the maker of the mod which i am making a sub mod for.

you can do that by using a basic mod (i use landstoconquer ) and then insert (copy paste) any other file from another mod to your basic mod . But first you must be aware of what changes every file does...I use landstocoquer basic mod and have inserted shaba wangys diplomacy mod in it (in data folder) i did not copy shaba wangys export description units.txt file because i did not like it.i also copied some files of darthmod mod to my basic mod but not the ones that change building recruitments (descr_buildings.txt) because i use my own version of this file

    yes maybe you're right :/
i hope i'll be able to keep my files for later installs. anyway i ment that not all the modders work together surely its impossible but someone collects some good stuff and merge it together

oh any recommendations which mod should i use basicly? something that has more provinces and such?

What seems to happen often is that a modder will begin with an idea to improve a specific area (such as campaign AI, or unit balancing, etc), but then widen that into a general mod. Unfortunately (IMO) it gets widened into a general mod often before the focused mod (one or two files) has really been fully tested, worked through and perfected. Also, I think there is a tendency (and this particular site seems slightly worse for it than others) for modders increasingly to be competitive and 'secretive' about how they do things, rather than the more collaborative/discussion approach. This leads to mods rushing to do something before another mod does, rather than the "community" sharing ideas to come up with better solutions.
