Icon5 Two questions, no, three questions!

Question number one: Can you dismount your troops off the Britain chariots? Many British tribes used chariots where you would have 1 "driver" and 1 or more warriors who would throw and shoot projectiles, after they ran out of ammo the warriors would jump off the chariots and run into the battle leaving the "driver" in the chariot encase they need to make a hasty retreat. Is there a way to mimic this by allow warriors to dismount the chariots?

Question number two: Will there be late period roman units? It would be interesting if you could mimic the fall of rome by having late period roman units to give that feeling that rome is dying.(You know, something like an extremely late game event that swaps out the usual elite roman infantry for slightly less elite late period roman infantry)

Question number three: Will there be events for the end game which encourage the migration period?

I know, i know "If you want to play in the migration era, just play vanilla!" It's just that it would be absolutely sweet to be able to experience the history from the dawn of roman dominance to it's fall. But, this does not just go for rome, having late game events that destabilize the world would provide an interesting challenge to your empire be it carthage or suebi.(Which at this point in the game would probably resemble the high point of rome in terms of size)

Maybe i'm just being stupid and this is too hard to accomplish and if so, i'm genuinely sorry for wasting your time. have a nice day, and happy coding!

Ere the other side ye see. Am I right? XD

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Q2:
I think they're planning to go only a short time frame over the peak Imperial period maybe around the 200s AD I believe. Not 100% sure but I remember the targeted end date was long before the fall. It would be cool to have the period joined on however it may require a lot of additional work that is unlikely to eventuate any time soon given the effort they want to put into developing the ancient period.

Not sure about Q2 & 3. There will be a lot of roaming barbarian hordes either way given the horde mechanics in Attila. I often saw Germanic tribes that had been uprooted go and settle down in places like Spain or very far from their original starting point. I always liked that about Attila.

Ok, to go with the theme, let me rephrase what i said.

WHAT, will you do with chariots and dismounting?!

WHAT, are the late period roman units if any?!

WHAT, are the end game events?!

Chariots can't dismount and we cannot change that I'm afraid.

depends on your definition of late. We have Early Imperial Legions such as would be seen around 100 AD when our campaign ends.

First of all I think it important to point out that events will not be on release, nor should you expect them any time soon. Should we get round to actually being able to put hours into custom events I wouldn't be surprised if you'd have to wait at least a year after release. There a quite a few events we want to do but they're not specifically end game, more mid game tbh. All our events and the campaign itself will 'try' to lead the player down a kind of historical path with events happening to the player if he takes the same actions as the historical faction did (so once Rome controls Carthage, Spain, Numidia they will get set upon by several hordes of Cimbri and Teutones). As such there are no real late game events, just lots of smaller ones over the course of the game that will hopefully keep the player guessing and challenged all the way through.

It is important also to say that we wish to plan a lot of smaller, ahistorical events centred around the problems of governance and internal politics, so hopefully you'll see a lot of civil conflicts and infighting and general problems that will pop up and really hinder your control of your faction for several turns.
Vespasian's own: Up the Augusta! For Cato!

    AE: Battle Balancing and BAI.

    Too bad about the chariots.

What i mean by late game roman troops is essentially just a degradation of troop quality which would be reflected in models. Essentially after a certain point you high quality troops would begin to be replaced with attila esque troops. I know such a thing would take many more years, and probably is not even part of your plans, but oh well.

Events made to destabilize your empire sound neat. Very good way to tone down to mid-game slog where everything becomes too easy.

Well, I think that in AE timeframe it would not make sense to put troop quality degradation, which happened in later period, which this mod does not cover.
