This forum makes double spaces to one space that's why it is wise to post with a code ["code"]["/code"] - without the "" and put the text in the middle...
To Larry: If the unit is far away invisible then delete the sprites folder, if the unit is invisible in near the camera then add io file first thing to bat file...
i tried the double spacing after the zeros and the units are still invisible.

the "sheild 0 16" it ried w/ and without double spacing. it made no difference.
Can one of you guys familiar with the encoding of the battle_models file add the textures for England in the Italian MAA (italian_maa_ug, ug1, and ug2) entry for me please? I've been trying to do it and I keep getting a CTD...

I want to make a saracen swordsmen unit, so I took the hidden unit wagon in the EDU file and made a saracen unit from it works fine. Only thing is saracen skin textures give the unit a spear and not a sword. I tried to change in battle_models.MODELDB the wagon skin into a saracen skin with sword as wepapon, but all my attempts faild, is it a least possible what I am trying to do?

To Rammstein: You can't change the units weapons and shields because the shield and weapon is implanted in the mesh file but there is one other way to do it, just look a similar model unit who has a sword and just add the saracen's texture to it and it should work...

im new here (actually just registered) but have been looking at this tutorial cos i want to add some form of pikemen to england but every time ive tried i get a ctd. im probly just gonna try replacing "6 venice" with "7 england" for militia pikemen but im unsure if it will work. if i doo this for all the entries for the militia will this remove the pikemen texture for venice and add the venice texture for england? if this works i may try re adding venice.
does anybody else think that the english should have pikemen or is it just me.
id actually be happy if i could make billmen phalanx but this dont work either
if you change the faction name venice to england then you added a new unit to england but then venice's units will be invisible

Make sure you:
1. stringlenght and lenght number not mach
2. number of factions is not correct in both sections (texture and weapons)
3. you have wrong space somewhere
To make model visible you have to make only two steps!
1. Copy existing texture line and rename the faction and increase allowed factions number
2. You have to repeat step.1 with weapon animations section too.
Trading tip: Load your mercants on your (crapy, cheap upkeep) unit and place that crapy unit on the valuable trade ressource. All will earn money on that single ressourecAND other merchants can't do anything! ha:ha
BUT it has bad side efect, if the unit rebel you will lose your merchants:hmmm:

@Gautar: You can't create new texture files but you can edit old ones just copy the files you want to edit->unpack it->open it up in picture editor file->edit it->Repack it->Overwrite the old file
@Brian257043: In export_descr_units file... add a new owner to the merc unit and you can buy it... If you want also to build it edit export_descr_buildings
@funky_kiwi: Sry can't help you in the problem but maybe this will help: You can't change unit weapons because weapons and the unit models are implanted in the mesh file...
@misfitsfiend138: Next time you put a text in this forum put it as code because normal text will delete the double spaces and in modeldb double spaces are very important...
