    Nice units but it's the campaign I'm hanging for.

    They look great but aren't Kozaks a bit out of timeframe and equipment?

    It would fit Rus nobility but not Kozaks. Plus I think they just should be called Rus and not Kozaks. They did not emerge until Cumans got anihilated and did not become prominent local group until long time later.

    Edit note, I forgot the existance of Codex Cummanicus, since there their role was different, my mistake.

    Well, Kozaks stands for non-noble cavalry according to codex Cumanicus.

    Yeah, bodyguards. When I read Kozaks I thought about Cossacks (which in Polish is written Kozak).

    Aren't the maces of Heavy Macemen too big compared to maces of unit commanders?

    They look even better than they did in previous releases.

    What are the high period Terteroba cavalry helmets (the kettle-helmet look-alikes) based on by the way?

    The unit commanders are still using the early era model. I am in the process of making the the high era ones.

    Based on the helmet worn by the Cuman in one of Saint Ladisalus' frescoes.

    No it isn't. This is exclusive for the Cuman factions only.

    All of these examples have a “rod” to attach a little flag (ialovets). This detail, well known in the 15th-16th centuries52, was most likely also used in the 12th. The colour of the ialovets is most likely red. In the description of the “Mamaevo massacre” they are described to ‘shine like flames’53.
