    Default supply system

Maybe i missed something in manual, but i dont understand how i should establish supply route. I have merchant harbour in Ariminium and im attacking Venetians. My general foraging for supplies instead of having supplies from strategic depot. i should have supply chain for up to 2 regions far from Ariminium with trade harbour except for some situations IIRC.

i let Venetians live few more turns to try impacts of seasons on it. no diference. no enemy colision, 100 public order, 100 latin culture, positive and high supplies. Depot in ariminium and i attacked Patavium.

Supply lines can also be cut by various things - foreign armies, bad public order, seasons, etc

no. i should be supplied by strategic depot itself. baggage train is just bonus(or bonus granting stuff). that is what manual says. no word about strategic depot requires train to work. without train i should have either one of these bonuses: supply line across region(s) 1,2,3.. with train it hould be : supply line with baggage train.

Do minor trade ports also act as strategic depots? I seem to remember that only major trade ports could do this before.

I am not entirely sure about this either but I think Augustus is right here.

i dont know what is minor and major trade ports.... ingame encyclopedia is somewhat pitifull and only i know about are building levels. manual also says absolutely nothing about level requirements. so i have trade port lvl 2(or just 1 lvl of trading port but there is 2 ) and i expect it to work as manual just showed me icons of buldings that i builded for that purpose. sorry guys i appreaciate, that you try to help me, but im new to mod and honestly play R2 after long time. and rome 2 can be everything, but not a synopthical game. only tool is ingame encyclopedia and that is hardcoded i suppose.

Well, major trade ports are in provincial capitals, minor ones are in minor towns (the ones w/o walls). But I checked it out and even minor trade ports should have a supply line to one region (at least thats what the building description says). Nevertheless, you see the system is rather complicated, I'll investigate further. But I like how you try to find out things!

I believe minor ports act as operational depots but only major ports can act as supply depots.

so if i understand that well. i should have in each provincial capital trade port(if coastal) or market to supply strategic depots which will support further suppliing? so having trade ports in minor settlements is worthless for supply chain.

manual need revision in some parts for sure.

Based upon the in-game tooltips, minor trade ports supply a supply line to 1 adjacent region, major trade ports to 2, and supply depots to 3, granaries provide 1 supply line. Reading the script it does indeed say that minor trade ports act as operational supply depots that supply a supply line to 1 region.

i dont know what version do you play, but in my 1.1 (steam version) ,,minor'' trade ports dont act as anything but trade port.

I suggest that you specify that you're using an older version the next time you bring up an issue, surely less confusion and more accurate aid that way.

Also, if you've missed it, 1.2 is available as a download right here on the forums, not to be found on steam. Really recommend you get it and start a new campaign, lots of new and awesome stuff added.

I'm playing with 1.2. I checked the old 1.1 files and the minor ports weren't made into supply depots until the people of Rome beta/1.2 beta, so no they won't have any effect in your current game.

i am usually up to date'' with mods im using, but i didnt know if it is stable beta without gamebreaking/ immersion breaking bugs, so i decided for 1.1 for test. im satisfied with this mod rly, just dont understand some thing as it seems some stuff is explained rather for that 1.2 version than for 1.1 . I rather should rename this topic into ,, Few questions from DEI newbie'' bcoz im confused in more wys than just from supply system . For example armies should decrease public order if garrisoned in city itself, so why they sometimes decrease and sometimes increase p.o? I conquered Iader and my land army has negative impact on p.o as stated, but when i garrisoned there my support fleet p.o raised. bubbles, icons or traits/skills of admiral shouldnt have positive impact.

This is a limitation of the UI - fleets still look like they increase public order, but in fact they decrease it. If you click on the fleet, you should see an advice pop-up that tells you the actual public order penalty that the fleet is causing.

1.2 is actually a lot more stable and immersive than 1.1.

There is also a little icon under the portrait of the admiral telling you how much PO is subtracted.
